Accordingly, RMIT is one of the first universities in Vietnam to teach accounting according to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). This is the most popular accounting standard globally and by 2025, all state-owned enterprises, listed companies and large unlisted companies in Vietnam will be required to comply with this accounting standard. This means that when students graduate after 3 years of university study, they will be ready to join the high-quality human resources with international accounting knowledge that is in great demand from 2025 onwards.
In addition, the program's highlight is the advantage of possessing international certificates from prestigious organizations such as CPA Australia, the Association of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom (ACCA). Specifically, after graduation, students are eligible to join CPA Australia, Associate level, and join the CA (Chartered Accountants) program, Student Affiliate level. In addition, students are also exempted from up to 9 foundation subjects (out of a total of 13 subjects) in the ACCA diploma and up to 7 subjects in the CIMA diploma, reducing the time and effort to obtain these additional professional practice certificates.
Program Director, Dr. Tuan Chu - Senior Head of Accounting and Law said: "We focus on providing comprehensive knowledge of accounting and developing practical skills. With recognition from leading international accounting organizations, the program will help students develop expertise, practical experience and be ready to work immediately after graduation as well as have promotion opportunities in the future".
Notably, the program also equips students with business knowledge, multi-skills, global thinking, and analytical and critical thinking skills to help them be ready to adapt and advance further in their careers. Specifically, students can choose to study one of 13 majors in the Business group such as marketing, human resources, blockchain, etc. to expand their knowledge in business. In addition, subjects at RMIT apply the Work Integrated Learning method, focusing on solving practical problems arising in the business context.

"As artificial intelligence develops, many people think that the accounting profession will gradually be replaced. However, these tools cannot replace the judgment and decision-making of accountants and auditors. By using AI, we can improve data quality, efficiency, accuracy, and gain deeper insights, communicate better, and make smarter decisions about finance and accounting. Therefore, the Bachelor of Accounting program facilitates and encourages students to establish an attitude of continuous learning to master the use of artificial intelligence," the program representative shared.
With a 3-year training period, the program also offers students the opportunity to study abroad at RMIT University Melbourne and more than 200 global partner universities. From there, students have more experiences and are ready for international job opportunities. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the country is expected to need 338,362 Accounting positions by 2026. This opens up many opportunities for Accounting students when they are qualified in the training program and international certificates granted by RMIT University Melbourne.
