Specifically, on its WeChat social media account, China's Ministry of State Security wrote that a foreigner, identified only by his surname Huang, was in charge of a foreign consulting agency, and in 2015, MI6 established an "intelligence cooperation relationship" with this person, according to Reuters.
MI6 then instructed Huang to enter China multiple times and instructed him to use his public identity as a cover to collect Beijing-related intelligence for British espionage, according to China's Ministry of State Security.

According to the ministry, MI6 also provided professional intelligence training for Mr. Hoang in the UK and elsewhere, and provided special spy equipment.
"After careful investigation, state security organs quickly discovered evidence that Huang was involved in espionage activities, and took criminal coercive measures against him," China's Ministry of State Security wrote.
There was no immediate response from the UK to the allegations. The British government has long said that Chinese spies are targeting its officials in sensitive positions in politics, defense and business as part of an increasingly sophisticated espionage operation aimed at gaining access to secrets, according to Reuters.
A British parliamentary researcher recently denied being a Chinese spy. China has repeatedly denounced such claims from the UK, with a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman calling them “completely groundless,” according to Reuters.
