Implementing the plan of the Peak Month for drug prevention and control, after a short period of focusing on investigation and verification, recently the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police coordinated with the Border Guard Command, Thanh Hoa Provincial Customs Department and Quan Son District Police, Thanh Hoa City Police to destroy a ring of illegal drug trafficking and transportation in large quantities from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

The leaders of this drug trafficking and transportation ring are Le Dinh Tien, born in 1984 in Quang Thang ward and Tran Trong Khanh, born in 1987 in Phu Son ward, Thanh Hoa city.

Le Dinh Tien himself is a long-time driver of Hoang Thai bus company, the owner of which is Hoang Thi Thai (Thai Chat) - a notorious drug addict who was arrested by Thanh Hoa police in May 2022.

After the arrest of “boss” Hoang Thi Thai, Le Dinh Tien and Tran Trong Khanh colluded with Luong Van Nhan, born in 1986 in Tam Thanh commune, Quan Son district, to establish a drug trafficking and transportation network from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

Using professional measures, at about 2:00 p.m. on June 11, 2023, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police coordinated with the Border Guard, Thanh Hoa Customs Department and Quan Son District Police, Thanh Hoa City Police to arrest two subjects: Le Dinh Tien, born in 1984 in Quang Thang Ward and Tran Trong Khanh, born in 1987 in Phu Son Ward, Thanh Hoa City, while transporting 3,057 synthetic drug pills for sale.

Continuing to investigate and expand the case, the police force arrested Luong Van Nhan.

Searching the suspects' residence, the police seized many exhibits related to drug trafficking and transportation.

Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police has issued a decision to temporarily detain the above 3 subjects for the acts of buying, selling, storing, and illegally transporting drugs, and at the same time coordinate with functional units to continue investigating and expanding the case.
