The Vietnamese Government has chosen November 15 to December 15 as the month of action for gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence. This is a peak month of action with important media events, creating positive effects, attracting the attention and response of people, communities and agencies and organizations, contributing to raising awareness, changing behavior, and narrowing the gender gap in most areas.
The photo exhibition with 63 photos, inspired by the reality that 63% of married women have experienced violence in their lifetime, of which less than 10% sought help according to the 2nd National Survey on Violence Against Women in 2019 (conducted by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the General Statistics Office and the United Nations Population Fund funded by the Australian government), emphasizes the important role of the People's Public Security force in protecting women and children from gender-based violence.
The exhibition’s images are presented in a positive light to encourage women and girls who have experienced violence to seek help from the police. This is the first exhibition in Vietnam on this topic, lasting two weeks, with free admission from November 27 to December 10, 2024.
