Resolutely deploy solutions to combat smuggling and trade fraud

DNO - On the afternoon of July 31, at the conference to review the activities of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024 of the City Steering Committee 389, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong, Head of the Steering Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of member sectors in launching, inspecting, controlling, maintaining market stability, minimizing the situation of counterfeit and poor quality goods, contributing to creating an impressive tourism environment for visitors.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested member sectors to continue to resolutely implement solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods; review new requirements to successfully complete tasks; focus on assessing the current situation and results, clearly pointing out outstanding issues and new methods in smuggling and trade fraud activities to promptly advise and develop inspection and examination plans, strictly handle violations and masterminds; continue to strengthen coordination and close information exchange to promptly investigate and verify violations.

Media agencies should strengthen propaganda work, raise awareness of law compliance, help people and tourists identify and report violations in related fields.

The Market Management Department continues to review, amend, supplement and perfect the coordination regulations between member sectors; synthesize opinions and proposals from member sectors to report to the city for research. Thereby, ensuring the beautiful image of the city, creating a healthy business and trading environment, bringing peace of mind and comfort to tourists when traveling to Da Nang.

The report at the conference said that in the first 6 months of 2024, members of the City Steering Committee 389 conducted 2,213 inspections, an increase of 31% over the same period; handled 2,048 violations, an increase of 43.2% over the same period; prosecuted 16 cases with 73 subjects; the total amount of fines (administrative fines, tax arrears, liquidation of confiscated goods) was nearly 139.77 billion VND, an increase of 16.4% over the same period.

At the conference, 3 groups and 6 individuals received certificates of merit from the Head of the National Steering Committee 389, 7 groups and 5 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Da Nang Newspaper is one of 17 collectives receiving a certificate of merit from the Head of the City Steering Committee for outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2023.
