In 2024, member sectors, especially key forces such as market management, police, customs, tax, border guards, etc., have deployed many solutions, stepped up inspection, control and resolutely fought against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
Emphasizing that 2025 is an important year, with many important events of the country and many meaningful activities of the city, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and localities, according to their functions and tasks, to resolutely, synchronously and effectively deploy tasks and solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation; at the same time, identifying this as an important political task that needs to be deployed regularly and continuously, thereby promoting the responsibility of leaders.
In particular, effectively implement the peak plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025 in the city.
In addition, member industries need to focus on assessing and forecasting the situation, emerging issues, identifying methods and tricks of smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods, production and trading of counterfeit goods, intellectual property violations, and goods that do not ensure food hygiene and safety in the coming time to propose solutions to combat, prevent, and handle them more appropriately and effectively...
According to the report of the City's Steering Committee 389, in 2024, the authorities inspected 3,797 cases, down 8.8% over the same period in 2023; handled 3,242 cases, down 15.9% over 2023; the total amount collected was more than 246 billion VND (3,242 cases).
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong awarded Certificates of Merit from the Head of Steering Committee 389 of Da Nang City to 22 collectives and 17 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the city in 2024.
