Implement activities to support people with disabilities in accessing information and job opportunities

This morning, October 15, the Provincial Association of People with Disabilities, Agent Orange Victims, Support for People with Disabilities and Protection of Children's Rights (PWD, NNDC, BTNKT&BVQTE) in collaboration with Federation Handicap International held a conference to implement the Project "Enhancing access to information and employment opportunities for people with disabilities through appropriate technology and digital applications".

This project will be implemented in Quang Tri province for 3 years (from August 2024 to July 2027).

The overall goal of the project is to increase the participation of youth with disabilities in health, socio-economic improvement activities through appropriate digital solutions.

The specific goal of the project is to provide disabled youth with access to employment opportunities and health care through appropriately designed digital technology applications and remote rehabilitation applications.

Strengthen the participation of relevant departments, branches, localities, and non-governmental organizations working in the field of PWDs.

The project budget allocated to Quang Tri province is 175,258 EUR (equivalent to 4.6 billion VND). The project owners are the Association of PWDs, NNDC, and the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Beneficiaries are young people with disabilities; family members of people with disabilities, digital service providers, organizations working with people with disabilities, information technology students, and local departments.

The project includes a number of key activities such as: Supporting non-governmental organizations to review existing training courses on skills and financial literacy, providing tools to adjust the courses to become inclusive for people with disabilities and accessible in the long term.

Build capacity for PWDs and family members to implement individual action plans towards socio-economic inclusion, including the use of selected digital tools.

Improve the ability of people with disabilities to participate in economic development activities through the use of alternative communication solutions such as: augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and telerehabilitation (Opentelerehab). Organize regional and national forums to discuss digital solutions that are inclusive of people with disabilities.
