Kinhtedothi – On the morning of January 23, Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper coordinated with the Red Cross Society of Ung Hoa district and sponsors to present 50 Tet gifts to 50 households in difficult circumstances.
This is one of the activities within the framework of the "Tet of Love" program organized by Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper on the occasion of Lunar New Year every year, giving meaningful Tet gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Hanoi.
From early morning on January 23, representatives of households from Trung Tu and Dong Tan communes, Ung Hoa district gathered at Trung Tu commune hall. Among them were the elderly; also the visually impaired… all shared the joy of being warmly welcomed by the staff, employees, workers of Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, Ung Hoa district Red Cross Society and representatives of sponsors.
Chairwoman of the Ung Hoa District Red Cross Society Nghiem Thi Thu Trang shared: “According to annual practice, on the occasion of Tet, all levels and sectors in the district implement and develop many programs and plans to organize many activities to care for people in difficult circumstances. This year is the 5th year that Ung Hoa district has accompanied the Economic and Urban Newspaper to give loving gifts to households in difficult circumstances. We are very grateful for the affection that the Economic and Urban Newspaper and the sponsor have given to people in difficult circumstances in the district.”
Speaking at the program, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic & Urban Newspaper Le Hoang Anh said that with the spirit of "Joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", Economic & Urban Newspaper has accompanied Ung Hoa district for 5 years to carry out social security work, especially during the Lunar New Year. The program "Tet Nghia Tinh" is an annual activity implemented by Economic & Urban Newspaper and philanthropists for many years, with the desire to bring meaningful gifts to families in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Tet, to encourage and hope that families will have a warm Tet holiday.
In recent times, the Economic & Urban Newspaper has coordinated with Ung Hoa district to implement many programs, organize seminars and workshops to contribute to solving issues on policy mechanisms and social issues. Thereby finding solutions so that people can escape poverty and improve people's lives.
On this occasion, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic & Urban Newspaper Le Hoang Anh also thanked organizations, individuals and businesses that have always accompanied Economic & Urban Newspaper in social security activities in the capital and the whole country over the past time.
Expressing his gratitude to the Economic & Urban Newspaper and sponsors for people in difficult circumstances in the district, Trung Tu Commune Secretary Ta Van Khoan hopes to continue receiving attention, companionship, and cooperation, and to have practical activities and contribute more to people in difficult circumstances in Trung Tu Commune in particular and Ung Hoa District in general.
Up to now, Ung Hoa district has presented gifts to more than 4,600 households in difficult circumstances in the district. Ung Hoa is also the first unit in Hanoi to implement the model of "Compassionate residential clusters" and "Humanitarian booths". The model has brought great efficiency with more than 100 humanitarian booths in a total of 140 villages. The goal of the district Red Cross Society is to strive for 100% of villages in the district to have humanitarian booths.
“From humanitarian booths, people in the district have joined with local authorities to mobilize businesses and benefactors to support families in difficult circumstances. Up to now, through more than 100 humanitarian booths, Ung Hoa district has presented more than 2,800 gifts with a total value of more than 2 billion VND. In addition, the total number of Tet gifts to the people is more than 6,000 gifts, of which the Red Cross Society alone is 4,600 gifts” - said Nghiem Thi Thu Trang, Chairwoman of Ung Hoa District Red Cross Society.
