Within the framework of the program, the Vietnam Association of Mine Risk Assessment (VMA) also organized propaganda on measures to prevent mine accidents for people and students in A Luoi district. Through propaganda and guidance, it aims to help people and students recognize some common types of mines and explosives, and how to handle suspected bombs, mines and explosives when they are discovered.

Speaking at the program, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat - Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Mine and UXO Prevention and Control, said that over the past 9 years, the Association has carried out very active, practical and effective activities nationwide, especially in key localities with post-war bombs and mines from the Association's funds as well as support and sponsorship from agencies, units, organizations, businesses and philanthropists. The Association has conducted 32 propaganda activities to raise awareness of mine accident prevention and support the livelihoods of victims in 25 provinces and cities, focusing on key provinces with heavy mine and bomb contamination.

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat, the livelihood support activities for the victims and students this time are an important milestone, an event of profound political, social and humanitarian significance. This support will be a source of motivation and encouragement to help the victims and their families overcome difficulties, develop the economy, stabilize their lives and reintegrate into the community.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, said that in recent times, the province has always paid attention to mine clearance and supported people to overcome the consequences of mines. In particular, Thua Thien Hue has cooperated with domestic and foreign organizations to implement projects of the National Mine Action Center (VNMAC), implementing mine clearance projects in A Luoi district. Through the implementation of mine clearance projects, it has made an important contribution to solving the problem of mines left over from the war, helping to develop the socio-economy in the province.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province hopes that in the coming time, the Vietnam Association for Support in Overcoming the Consequences of Bombs and Mines will have practical programs and activities to promptly encourage, share and help bomb and mine victims across the country to strive to escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

It is known that Thua Thien Hue province in general and A Luoi district in particular are key areas heavily affected by post-war bombs, mines and explosives, with a large number of victims of accidents caused by bombs and mines over the years. In A Luoi district alone, by the end of 2022, the district had a total area contaminated with bombs and mines of 2,981 hectares, with many bomb and mine victims. Over the years, A Luoi has directed the timely and effective implementation of support for bomb and mine victims. However, the lives of many victims are still very difficult.
