The organizing committee awarded prizes to the winners of the writing contest on foreign information work, propaganda of seas, islands and land borders.

On the afternoon of January 16, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang, the Propaganda Department of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee coordinated with the Naval Region 5 Command to organize the Closing Ceremony and Award Ceremony of the Writing Contest with the theme "Foreign information work; propaganda of seas, islands and land borders" in Kien Giang province in 2023.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for Foreign Affairs of Kien Giang Province; Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Region 5; Colonel Le Van Huong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Region and functional agencies of the two units.

In his welcoming speech, Colonel Le Van Huong said that the writing contest on foreign information work; propaganda about sea, islands and land borders in Kien Giang province in 2023 is the key content in the program of coordinating propaganda about sea and islands between the Naval Region 5 Command and the Propaganda Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee in 2023. From the results of this contest, the delegates and authors will continue to spread the good values that the contest brings to a wide range of people inside and outside Kien Giang province.

The writing contest on foreign information work; propaganda about sea, islands and land borders of Kien Giang province in 2023 was widely launched among all classes of people nationwide from March 2, 2023 to October 30, 2023.

The contest received nearly 9,500 entries from localities, agencies and units inside and outside the province. Among them, many articles were of good quality, carefully invested by the authors, presented scientifically, creatively, printed in color, bound, boxed, decorated artistically... creating a good impression on readers. In particular, there were many entries of up to 6 volumes, in addition to the main content, the authors also provided additional images, teachings of President Ho Chi Minh and legal documents to illustrate their entries.

The entries clearly reflected the work of foreign information; proposed many positive solutions to the implementation of the strategy for sustainable marine economic development and the process of lobbying the European Commission (EC) to remove the "yellow card" for Vietnamese seafood; provided updated information on land border work between Vietnam and neighboring countries; fought against wrong views and distorted information of opportunistic and hostile forces at home and abroad that took advantage of border and territorial issues to damage the great national unity bloc and distort the image of Vietnam; denied Vietnam's achievements and efforts in various fields...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated the coordination, propaganda, and organization of the contest of localities, agencies, and units. In order to continue to effectively carry out foreign information work; propaganda of the sea, islands, and land borders of Kien Giang province in the coming time, comrade Nguyen Thanh Phong requested that all levels, sectors, and localities of the province focus on thoroughly grasping, unifying the ideology, and awareness of the position, role, and importance of foreign information work; propaganda of the sea, islands, and land borders among cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated the coordination, propaganda and organization of the competition of localities, agencies and units.

Agencies, localities and units should strengthen methods and forms of propaganda and promotion of the image of the country and people of Vietnam, especially information on the development of Vietnam's marine economy and land border work in accordance with the policies and guidelines of the Party and State. Maximize the advantages of modern media; digitize information to disseminate to the majority of people inside and outside the province, the overseas Vietnamese community and international friends; seek support from progressive people around the world to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
