As part of a series of activities to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day (S&T) on May 18, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, on May 18, 2024, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology held an Award Ceremony for the Online Contest to learn about policies and laws of the S&T sector; and an Art Festival to celebrate the 65th anniversary of its establishment.
The Award Ceremony of the Online Competition on Learning about Policies and Laws of the Science and Technology Sector is an important event to honor individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in researching, studying, propagating and educating laws in the Science and Technology Sector. This is also an opportunity for agencies, organizations and individuals in the Science and Technology Sector to exchange and share experiences in propagating and educating laws, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of cadres, civil servants and public employees in performing their duties and public services.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat congratulated the Contest on achieving its goals, objectives and requirements to learn about the science and technology sector; creating conditions for union members, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers participating in the contest to have a deeper and more accurate understanding of the activities of the science and technology sector.
Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat praised the collectives and union members at the ceremony.
The Minister also commended the union members who actively participated in the Contest, the participating groups who developed and urged the implementation of specific plans, directed, guided, and promoted union members, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers to participate in the Contest, thereby spreading the Contest to a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of their units.

The Organizing Committee awarded 6 First Prizes, 9 Second Prizes, 14 Third Prizes and 27 Consolation Prizes to the winning individuals.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh awarded prizes to the groups participating in the Competition.
The awards for the collective include: First Prize belongs to the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality, Second Prize belongs to the Institute of Technology Application, FPT Joint Stock Company; Third Prize belongs to the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
In addition to activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Arts Festival is a place for civil servants, public employees and workers in the science and technology sector to express their love for their homeland and country through their songs and singing, as well as promote cultural and artistic exchange activities; strengthen the close relationship and solidarity between units. Thereby, contributing to motivating cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the Ministry to fulfill their assigned tasks well, improve their spiritual life, and build a healthy and progressive cultural environment. The Arts Festival is also a useful playground to cultivate art, promote creativity, foster love for their homeland and country, love for the industry and profession, and create solidarity and cohesion among the collective of workers in the units.
With 44 diverse performances from 22 units under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Departments of Science and Technology, from choirs, trios, duets, solos, dances, to instrumental solos, the art festival contributed to honoring the Party, Uncle Ho, the love for the homeland, the country and the science and technology sector. The cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Science and Technology performed joyful, heroic, exciting melodies full of "science and technology spirit". Youth, passion, team spirit and dedication created a brilliant success of the art festival.
Chairman of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology Ha Quoc Trung said that through the Contest, it can be seen that cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers not only fulfill their professional tasks well but also become artists in the mass cultural and artistic movement. Hopefully, in the coming time, the Trade Unions of the units will continue to accompany, exchange, share and strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding to promote professional activities, contributing to the successful completion of assigned political tasks.
The Organizing Committee awarded First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, and Encouragement Prize for each category, specifically:
First prize in the dance category went to the Ministry Office with the performance "Science and Technology aspires to reach high".
First prize in the choir category went to the joint Office of the State Key Program and the Office of the National Program with the performance "New Road Wide Open".
First prize in the duet category went to the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality with the performance "Mashup of me, a Vietnamese person, and my homeland".
First prize in the top singing category went to the Institute of Technology Application with the performance "Vietnam's Pride".
First prize in the solo category went to the Intellectual Property Office with the performance "Storm".
The Organizing Committee awarded the Unique Prize to comrade Nguyen Phuc Thuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Giang province, for his Guitar Solo performance: "La Paloma (The Ancient Sail) and Romance d'Amour".
