On the morning of September 27, in Quang Ngai, the Vietnam Women's Union held the Final Award Ceremony of the Regional Women's Entrepreneurship Competition - Central region 2024 with the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation".
The contest is organized to encourage and motivate women of all classes and ages to actively participate in starting a business; starting a business; searching, selecting, and awarding prizes to honor enterprises/cooperatives/cooperative groups/business households owned or managed by women; having outstanding initiatives in producing new products, services, and business models; meeting the goal of ensuring a green transformation process according to principles, equality, inclusion, enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of the economy, contributing to the implementation of the Government's National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
The Final Award Ceremony of the 2024 Regional Women's Entrepreneurship Competition in the Central region had the participation of delegates from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Quang Ngai province and the Women's Unions of the Central provinces.
The Central region includes a total of 25 participating startup projects, including 22 projects from 16 provinces and cities and 03 projects from the Vietnam Association of People with Disabilities.
The contest aims to promote the establishment, development and maintenance of effective operations of startup project subjects; discover typical and positive factors to nurture into typical examples of successful female startups to honor and spread in the community, contributing to promoting gender equality.
Delegates attending the program
The Central region includes a total of 25 participating startup projects , including 22 projects from 16 provinces and cities and 03 projects from the Vietnam Association of People with Disabilities. This is the region that concentrates the majority of Startup Projects of women with disabilities with 10/13 projects participating in the preliminary round of all 03 regions and of these, 03 projects have entered the Final round of the Central Region. In addition, the Central region also has the largest number of Candidates under the age of 35 compared to the other 03 regions, accounting for 52% of the total number of Candidates participating in the Final round of the Central Region Regional Competition.
The Award Ceremony of the Final Round of the Regional Women's Startup Competition - Central region 2024 with the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation" is a festival of 25 startup project candidates who entered the regional final round of the Central region. 01 Special Prize, 03 First Prizes, 04 Second Prize projects, 05 Third Prizes were awarded to the candidates.

Also within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee awarded the "Vietnamese Women Confident in Business" award to honor potential projects/ideas, helping to add resources and confidence to pursue the dream of starting a business and taking control of women's lives across the country. This is a mission program of the Sunlight brand, initiated in 2020 within the framework of cooperation between Unilever Vietnam International Co., Ltd. and the Vietnam Women's Union. Through the program, thousands of women have been inspired to confidently do business, trained in knowledge and skills to start a business.
