It is expected that at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Con Toc Park on the poetic Tam Giang Lagoon, the People's Committee of Quang Dien District will coordinate with the Hue Ancient Capital Running Club (HCR) to organize the first Half Marathon of Quang Dien District in 2023.
The organizers hope that through this first Half Marathon, they will promote the image, land, people of Quang Dien and the historical, cultural values, and local tourism potential to people inside and outside the province. The race is also an opportunity to connect, exchange, and meet running enthusiasts to join hands in promoting the cultural beauty of the locality. At the same time, promote the mass movement "Training the body following the example of great Uncle Ho", promoting the movement of physical training and sports for everyone, every family.
The impressive point of Quang Dien Half Marathon is that the running route passes through most of the historical sites and famous landscapes of the new rural district of Quang Dien, with ripe rice fields and the cool green of each mangrove forest along Tam Giang lagoon. Accordingly, the Quang Dien Half Marathon running route includes 3 running distances: 5km, 10km and 21km.

With the spirit of running to challenge ourselves, spread the spirit of sports and explore new routes, these days we are actively training to participate in the tournament. There are many harsh marathon routes, but the route of Quang Dien Half Marathon is wonderful. The routes stretch across fields, rivers, and lagoons, making each athlete feel immersed in beautiful nature.
According to Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh, Quang Dien Half Marathon 2023 is a place to gather people who love Hue, love the land, people, historical and cultural values of Quang Dien, Hue culture. The race also hopes to inspire and create a playground for a large number of running lovers in Hue in particular and the running community at home and abroad in general. Through the race, promote the image, potential, and advantages of tourism to friends at home and abroad. With 3 running distances, the race is expected to gather 500 - 1,000 athletes at home and abroad to compete.
“To successfully organize the tournament, the Organizing Committee has carefully prepared the necessary conditions to ensure security, order, and traffic safety at the award ceremony stage and on the routes where the tournament takes place. The Organizing Committee also arranged many photographers and videographers on the routes; arranged volunteers, medical staff, service staff, and guides for athletes at the starting and finishing points to create conditions for athletes to reach the finish line safely and ensure their health,” said Nguyen Dinh Thong, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee.
