According to Colonel Chinh, Binh Duong Provincial Police have completed the investigation and proposed to prosecute 3 suspects in the An Phu karaoke bar fire that killed 32 people. However, Binh Duong People's Procuracy has returned the file and requested additional investigation.

The three defendants in this case include Le Anh Xuan (42 years old, residing in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, owner of An Phu karaoke bar) being investigated for the crime of "Violating regulations on fire prevention and fighting" and two former police officers , Nguyen Duy Linh and Nguyen Van Vo, being investigated for the crime of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences".

At 8:30 p.m. on September 6, 2022, Thuan An City Police received a report of a fire at An Phu karaoke business. Authorities were present at the scene and deployed rescue and firefighting plans.

The total area of ​​the fire was about 400 square meters. The fire broke out on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the facility. The main combustible materials were fabric, foam, wood...

The fire was controlled at 9:30 p.m., but the fire was still smoldering inside the facility and the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police continued to extinguish the fire until 8 p.m. on September 7.

An Phu karaoke business is located at 166C, Quarter 1A, An Phu Ward, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province. The facility is built on a land area of ​​about 578.52 m2, construction area of ​​about 500 m2, including 3 floors, total floor area of ​​1,500 m2.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short circuit. On September 8, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Duong Province opened a case of "Violation of fire prevention and fighting regulations" and prosecuted and temporarily detained the three suspects mentioned above.
