HCMC: List of public high schools recruiting additional 10th grade students

On July 21, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the list of public high schools recruiting additional grade 10 students for the 2024-2025 school year.

The subjects participating in the additional admission are students who have taken the 2024-2025 public grade 10 entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City and wish to take additional admission to public high schools that have not yet recruited enough students.

The condition for participating in additional admission is that students do not pass any admission wishes to public high schools and must have entrance exam scores of 3 subjects Math, Literature, Foreign Language and priority points (if any) greater than or equal to the standard score of the 3rd wish of the public high school they want to register for additional admission.

For students who have studied at secondary schools in the areas of Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc City, if they register for high schools in the same area as their secondary school, the total entrance exam score of the candidate will be considered according to the standard score of the first choice of the public high school they want to register for admission.

Each student can only register for additional enrollment at 1 public high school that has not yet met its assigned enrollment quota and cannot change schools after submitting the additional enrollment registration application.

Students wishing to enroll additional students must submit their application directly to the high school they wish to enroll in.

From July 22, 2024 to 5:00 p.m. on July 27, 2024, high schools will receive applications for additional enrollment.

From July 29, 2024 to July 31, 2024, high schools will conduct enrollment on exam management software.

On August 6, 2024, the list of additional successful candidates will be announced.

From August 7, 2024 to 4:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024, high schools will organize the reception of additional admitted candidates.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City noted that high schools will not accept students exceeding their enrollment quota and will not accept additional students registering for enrollment after 4:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024.

Previously, in the 2023-2024 school year, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City considered additional public grade 10 enrollment for high schools that had not yet met their enrollment quota.

Accordingly, there are a total of 97 public high schools recruiting additional 10th graders. Of which, the school with the highest additional enrollment quota is Phong Phu High School (Binh Chanh District) with 282 quotas and the lowest is Giong Ong To High School (Thu Duc City) with 2 quotas.

The total enrollment target for public grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year is 3,891. However, after reviewing the application, only more than 1,000 students passed the additional enrollment target for public grade 10.
