From 2 p.m., a meeting of public high school principals to guide the submission of 10th grade admission applications for the 2024-2025 school year took place at the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the list of 10th grade benchmark scores in Ho Chi Minh City that has just been announced, to pass the top schools, candidates must achieve 7.5-8 points/subject.

On the other hand, Binh Khanh, Can Thanh and An Nghia high schools have the lowest standard score of 10.5 points.

Many schools in Can Gio district, Cu Chi district, Thu Duc city have an entrance score of 10.5-12 points.

In general, most high schools in Ho Chi Minh City have fluctuations in the benchmark scores for grade 10 compared to 2023. However, this increase or decrease is not too large.

The highest score fluctuation is at Binh Chanh Sports Gifted School with 2.5 points (11.5 points in 2023 and 14 points in 2024).

Admission scores for grade 10 are usually calculated as follows:

Admission score = Literature exam score + Math exam score + Foreign language exam score + priority and incentive points (if any).

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City only considers admission for candidates who have taken all required exams, have not violated the entrance exam regulations, and have not scored zero on any exam.

Last year, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School still held the top 1 position in the 10th grade benchmark score in Ho Chi Minh City with the first choice score of 25.5 points; an increase of 1.25 points compared to 2022. The second and third choices differed by about 0.25-0.5 points, respectively.

Next are Gia Dinh High School (24.5 points); Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (24.25 points); Nguyen Huu Huan High School (24.25 points); Bui Thi Xuan High School (23.5 points).

The schools with the lowest benchmark scores are Da Phuoc High School, Binh Khanh High School, Can Thanh High School, An Nghia High School, Thanh An High School and Secondary School with 10.5 points, or an average of 3.5 points per subject.
