TPO - From morning to early afternoon on March 5, the sky in Ho Chi Minh City was gloomy, without sunshine. In some places, the sky even had dark clouds. This made the air less hot than the previous days.

Mr. Le Dinh Quyet - Head of Forecast Department of Southern Hydrometeorological Station - informed that the weather in the South will be cloudy and light foggy in some places such as Can Tho, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Bac Lieu .

In Ho Chi Minh City, the weather is cloudy, no rain, the temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, humidity is 89%. By this afternoon, the weather in the South continues to be cloudy, no rain, increasing heat, occurring widely. The heat is severe in the Eastern provinces, while the West has local heat. The highest temperature of the day in the East is from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, some places are over 37 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in the Western provinces, it is from 32 to 35 degrees Celsius, some places are over 35 degrees Celsius.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the North and Northeast of the city (including Cu Chi, Hoc Mon districts and Thu Duc City) and the central area are partly cloudy, sunny and hot during the day, no rain, the highest temperature of the day is 36 degrees Celsius. Can Gio district, part of Nha Be district (South) are partly cloudy, sunny during the day, no rain, the highest temperature of the day is from 34-35 degrees Celsius.

It is forecasted that from March 7 to March 10, the weather in the South will be hot and sunny with no rain. On March 5 and 7, there is a possibility of light showers in some places with insignificant amounts. The lowest temperature is from 23-26 degrees Celsius, the highest is from 34-36 degrees Celsius in the Eastern region and the Southwestern border; 33-35 degrees Celsius in the Western region.

By mid-March, the weather in the Southern region is generally rainless and sunny during the day. Hot weather with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius appears widely in the East and along the southwestern border for many days. There is very little chance of unseasonal rain, if any, it will be only insignificant.

The last week of March, the weather is generally dry, a few days at the end of the month there is a possibility of rain in some places with small amounts. A few days of intense heat with the highest temperature above 37 degrees Celsius in the Eastern region and some places in the Western region.

The meteorological agency recommends that people be prepared for the possibility of a shortage of fresh water for daily life and crops due to widespread, long-term heat waves.
