Recruiting 43 excellent graduates
According to Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc, the recruitment of teachers from excellent graduates is carried out according to Decision No. 3373 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Notice No. 5697 of the Department of Home Affairs on the recruitment of civil servants and public employees of Ho Chi Minh City from excellent graduates and young scientists in 2023.
Accordingly, the total recruitment demand for civil servants in public education units from excellent graduates is 43 targets for pedagogical majors: information technology, English, music, fine arts, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, literature, history, geography, physical education, national defense and security education.
Candidates register for the exam from October 30 to November 28 and must meet the standards in Article 2 of Decree No. 140/2017 of the Government:
Students who have graduated from a university with excellent pedagogical qualifications at a domestic or foreign university, are recognized as equivalent to a diploma or certificate according to the provisions of law, have excellent academic and training results in all years of university study, are between the ages of 16-30 (at the time of application submission), and meet one of the following criteria:
- Won 3rd prize or higher in one of the provincial-level excellent student selection competitions, won an encouragement prize or higher in the national excellent student selection competitions or a certificate of merit or higher in the international excellent student selection competitions, in one of the natural sciences (math, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics) and social sciences (literature, history, geography, foreign languages) during high school.
- Won 3rd prize or higher in national or international science and technology competitions during high school or university.
- Won 3rd prize or higher in an individual Olympic competition in one of the following subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, informatics, or other majors during university study, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The HCM City Recruitment Council will review the applicant's academic and research results (if any) according to the above criteria, and interview them about their professional qualifications and skills. The interview time is 30 minutes. The interview score is calculated on a 100-point scale.
Successful candidates have an interview score of 50 points or more, ranked from highest to lowest until the quota is filled.

How to assign excellent graduates to work?
Mr. Tong Phuoc Loc said that the Department of Education and Training registered with the Department of Home Affairs to recruit teachers for the above majors due to the lack of music and art teachers.
At the same time, positions need to be recruited from excellent graduates such as math, physics, chemistry, etc. to create a source of teachers to serve the teaching and training work for students of the city's excellent student teams to participate in national and international competitions.
Thus, "the work of recruiting teachers from excellent graduates will attract students with high qualifications, professional capacity, good moral qualities, meeting the needs and requirements of the job, suitable for the job position to supplement the staff to meet the requirements and assigned tasks and create a source of staff in public service units in the education sector", according to Mr. Loc.
After the teacher recruitment results are available, the Department of Education and Training will review and assign successful candidates to supplement schools that are lacking teachers after the 2023-2024 school year teacher recruitment. At the same time, assign appropriate training for students from the city's excellent student teams to participate in national and international competitions.
The person in charge of teacher recruitment at the Department of Education and Training emphasized that the assignment of successful candidates to public service units will be considered and calculated to suit the conditions of the candidates, the needs of the receiving unit as well as the conditions for the successful candidates to develop their capacity in actual teaching. Successful candidates will enjoy policies and regimes according to their capacity and strengths.
