Enrollment for grades 1 and 6 in 2 phases
Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City applies the Geographic Information System (GIS) to support the enrollment of grades 1, 6, 10 in Thu Duc City and districts. In particular, the allocation of students to schools in the area is carried out on the basis of prioritizing students to study at schools near their place of residence, however, depending on the actual situation in the locality, it is possible to consider not dividing according to the administrative boundaries of the ward.
Ho Chi Minh City continues to apply geographic information system (GIS map) to support enrollment in grades 1, 6, and 10.
Registration for admission to primary classes and admission to school are carried out entirely online. The admission process is divided into two phases, in which phase 1 prioritizes admission to cases that are actually residing in the area. Based on the units that have not recruited enough students compared to the assigned quota, the primary admission steering committee decides to open the second round of admission, and at the same time stipulates the subjects allowed to register during this phase. The deadline for announcing the admission results is August 1.
After the results are announced, parents must confirm their admission on the city's admissions website, then submit their paper applications directly to the school they have been admitted to according to the local primary school admissions plan. Schools are strictly prohibited from soliciting, collecting donations, and collecting fees outside of the regulations when enrolling students.
Survey on admission of 6th grade students to advanced schools
Ho Chi Minh City enrolls 6th grade students through a capacity assessment survey at secondary schools implementing the high-quality program "advanced, internationally integrated schools", schools with more students registering for 6th grade than the enrollment target. The list of secondary schools surveyed to assess 6th grade capacity, enrollment targets, survey dates, survey forms, survey times and some other related contents are implemented according to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training and the enrollment plans of the Department of Education and Training of districts.
