On the afternoon of January 17, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City held a conference to review policy credit activities in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.
Attending the conference were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Huu Viet and representatives of relevant departments, agencies, units and localities. Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City Pham Tien Hung, Head of the Board of Directors of the City Social Policy Bank (VBSP) chaired the conference.

In 2023, the Provincial Branch of the Social Policy Bank, together with socio-political organizations in Buon Ma Thuot City, accelerated lending activities with a total outstanding loan balance of more than VND 390.3 billion (an increase of VND 50.744 billion over the same period last year). Loan capital from the Social Policy Bank has created conditions for 3,462 poor households and other policy beneficiaries to have capital to invest in production and business to improve their lives, with a total amount of more than VND 129 billion.

According to the lending results according to Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the Government, by the end of 2023, the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies had provided loans with an outstanding balance of more than 43.9 billion VND, including the following programs: student loans, social housing loans, employment support and loan programs for non-public preschools.
As a result of lending according to Decision No. 22/2023/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on credit for people who have completed their prison sentences, the Branch has provided loans to 4 cases, with an amount of 270 million VND. Thereby, helping those who have made mistakes to rebuild their lives and rise up in life.

Implementing the tasks of 2024, the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies continues to proactively advise local Party committees and authorities at all levels to effectively implement Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated November 22, 2014, Conclusion No. 06-KL/TW dated June 10, 2021 of the Secretariat and Decision No. 1630/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister and programs and plans of the Provincial People's Committee. Focus on increasing local resources to support the implementation of multidimensional poverty reduction goals, ensuring social security and building new rural areas. Promote mobilization of deposits from organizations and individuals, receive deposits from members of savings and loan groups to ensure completion and over-fulfillment of assigned targets and plans. Strive to maintain credit quality, not to let overdue debt or frozen debt arise, and have the ratio of overdue debt and frozen debt below 0.22%...
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 collectives and 25 individuals with outstanding achievements in policy credit activities in the area in 2023.
