Accordingly, Commander of the Military Medical Corps Tetiana Ostashchenko was dismissed on November 19 and replaced by Mr. Anatoliy Kazmirchuk, head of a military hospital in the capital Kiev.

"Today an important personnel decision was made. At the request of the Minister of Defense, I changed the Commander of the Military Medical Forces," the Ukrainian leader said, adding: "I appointed Major General Anatoliy Kazmirchuk, head of the Main Military Hospital in Kiev, as the new Commander."

President Zelenskyy explained that in society, especially in the medical community during the war, there were many statements emphasizing that "we need a new level of basic medical support for soldiers".

During a working meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, President Zelensky stated: "At this meeting with Defense Minister Umerov, priorities have been set. There is very little time left to wait for results. We need to act quickly before the upcoming changes."

On Telegram, Minister Umerov also acknowledged the change and set top priorities including digitalization, "tactical medicine" as well as troop rotation.

"I have submitted a request to the President of Ukraine to replace the Commander of the Medical Forces. The reason for the change is for all those who are fighting in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. These issues have been discussed many times. It is time to solve the problem of medical supplies for our soldiers," he explained.
