In a speech announcing the Oreshnik missile system, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Moscow reserves the right to use weapons against military facilities of countries that allow their weapons to be used against Russian infrastructure.

In Eastern Europe, military bases in Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, and Kosovo are warned to be within range of the Oreshnik missiles. Meanwhile, in Northern Europe, there are bases in Sweden and Finland; in Western Europe, there are bases in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Portugal.

On November 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the testing of the new Oreshnik hypersonic missile had continued and that the arsenal was ready for use. Mr. Vladimir Putin described the first use of the Oreshnik missile as a successful test.

" We will continue these tests, including in combat conditions, depending on the situation and the nature of security threats to Russia," Vladimir Putin said in a televised speech.

Russia's latest missile launch comes amid a sharp escalation in tensions this week as both Ukraine and Russia have attacked each other's territory with increasingly powerful weapons.

Moscow says the US and its allies are directly involved in the conflict with Russia by giving Ukraine the green light to fire Western missiles deep into Russia.

Russia's new Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missile has a range of 3,000 - 5,500 km, allowing it to strike anywhere in Europe or the western United States from Russia. In addition, the missile reaches a maximum speed of more than 13,000 km/h and takes about 15 minutes to reach its target from launch.

According to security experts, the Oreshnik missile can carry multiple warheads and is capable of attacking multiple targets at the same time.
