The Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPR) in Da Nang led by Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang recently congratulated Buddha's birthday and offered alms on the occasion of the Vesak 2568-2024 festival to monks at Tam Bao Pagoda, Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City.

Here, the delegation performed rituals to worship the Three Jewels to celebrate the Vesak Festival, commemorating three important events: the birth of Bodhisattva, the Buddha's enlightenment, and the Buddha's nirvana. The delegation held a ceremony to offer flowers and lanterns, praying for national peace, world peace, and the happiness of all living beings.

Afterwards, Venerable Thich Phap Hieu, abbot of Tam Bao Pagoda, transmitted the Three Refuges and Five Precepts, and a Lao monk led the chanting and offering of the four requisites in Pali. The ceremony took place in a solemn and cozy atmosphere with the monks' chants and chants wishing blessings and good fortune, praying for the members of the delegation and their families to be happy and peaceful.

On behalf of the monks, Venerable Thich Phap Hieu performed the traditional wrist-tying ceremony and presented the statue of Buddha Shakyamuni to Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang and the Consulate staff.
