Summary of the work of searching and collecting martyrs' remains in the 2023 dry season

This afternoon, June 21, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 held a conference to summarize the work of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains in the 2023-2024 dry season. During the 2023-2024 dry season, units under the Provincial Steering Committee 515 coordinated to search for and collect the remains of 12 martyrs who were Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Savannakhet province and brought them back to the country in a careful, strict and safe manner; and searched for and collected the remains of 75 martyrs in the country. The above results have contributed to the good implementation of the Party and State's policies and guidelines for people with meritorious services.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Chief of Staff, Deputy Head of Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 4, Major General Le Van Vy highly appreciated the achievements of Quang Tri province in searching and collecting the remains of martyrs who died in Laos and in the country.

Propose that the Provincial Steering Committee 515 continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's guidelines and policies on the search and collection of martyrs' remains. Continue to effectively organize and implement activities to search, collect and identify the remains of martyrs with missing information.

Pay attention to, promptly ensure, and fully implement policies and regimes for the forces performing the task of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains. It is necessary to urgently review and complete the data on the first additional area and complete the quality map product for searching and collecting martyrs' remains to hand over according to the prescribed schedule.

During the 2024-2025 dry season, the Provincial Steering Committee 515 has set a goal of searching for and collecting the remains of over 90 martyrs who died in Laos and in the country. At the same time, it has proposed many key tasks and solutions such as: focusing on leadership and direction to promote information and propaganda work with many rich and diverse forms suitable for each locality to improve the effectiveness of providing information about martyrs and the search and collection of martyrs' remains.

Based on the local conclusion records, combining information sources about martyrs, the units develop a plan to organize surveys and verifications closely and scientifically, focusing on clear information with scientific basis to focus on organizing implementation first.

Strengthening the staff of the collection teams, prioritizing officers and employees with good qualities, abilities, health and expertise, both ensuring inheritance and stability and meeting the requirements of the search and collection tasks in the coming time...

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 5 groups and 10 individuals; the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 10 groups and 10 individuals with many achievements in searching and collecting martyrs' remains in the dry season of 2023 - 2024.
