Organizing Film Week to Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army

(Fatherland) - The film week celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army takes place from December 9-13, 2024 in Cao Bang and from December 19-25, 2024 nationwide.

Pursuant to Decision No. 3894/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 4, 2024 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Cinema presides over and coordinates with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, Feature Film Joint Stock Company I, Vietnam Cinema Association Film Studio, People's Army Cinema, Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Company Limited, Vietnam Animation Film Studio Joint Stock Company, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Film Distribution and Screening Center, Cinema Center, Cultural - Cinema Center, Cultural - Arts Center, Cultural Centers of provinces and centrally-run cities to organize "Film Week commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024)".

The film week takes place from December 9-13, 2024 in Cao Bang and from December 19-25, 2024 nationwide.

In particular, the films selected for screening during the Film Week include: Films screened in Cao Bang province include the feature film: "Green Star in the Waves" produced by the People's Army Cinema in 2023, "Red Dawn" produced by the Vietnam Cinema Association Film Studio in 2021. Besides, there is the documentary "Spirit Image" produced by the People's Army Cinema in 2024.

Films shown nationwide include: Feature film "Dao, Pho and Piano" produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I; Documentary films "Linh Anh", "Thep Trong Boi Dep" produced by People's Army Cinema and "Nguyen Thi Dinh - Portrait of a female general" produced by Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Company Limited; Animated film "Vung Dat Xanh" produced by Vietnam Animation Film Studio Joint Stock Company.

"Film Week Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024)" is one of the practical cultural and cinematic activities to celebrate the anniversaries of major holidays and important events of the country in 2024. The film week is organized to propagate to cadres, soldiers and the masses about the process of formation, development and dedication over the 80 years of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, affirming the talented and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. The cinematic works not only reflect the heroic fighting spirit and loyalty to the Fatherland, but also deeply depict the lives, emotions and very simple and familiar aspirations of soldiers.

In Cao Bang province, the Department of Cinema presides over and coordinates with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, People's Army Cinema, Film Studio of the Cinema Association, and Cao Bang Provincial Culture and Tourism Information Center to organize a Film Week to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) from December 9 to 13, 2024.

The Opening Ceremony of the Film Week was solemnly held at the Cao Bang Provincial Cultural Center on December 10, 2024 and screened the feature film: Sao xanh noi bien song and the documentary: Linh anh (produced by People's Army Cinema).

Within the framework of Film Week, the Department of Cinema organized the screening of feature films: Red Dawn, Blue Star in the Sea Waves and the documentary Linh Anh; and Exchange between the Film Crew, film artists with officers and soldiers of the Cao Bang Border Guard Command on December 11, 2024; Exchange between the Film Crew, film artists with officers, teachers and students of the Cao Bang Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities on December 12, 2024. Through the exchange, officers, soldiers, people, teachers and students will understand more about the profound meaning of the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army through films; stories behind the scenes of film crews, about the daily life as well as the artistic work of Vietnamese film artists.

Within the framework of Film Week in Cao Bang province, the film crew and artists offered incense at Pac Bo relic site and visited Special national relic site Tran Hung Dao Forest, Ban Gioc Waterfall, reviewing the golden pages of the Vietnam People's Army and the History of the Vietnamese Revolution.

Participating in the Film Week in Cao Bang province will be artists: Lieutenant Colonel, screenwriter Tran Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Documentary Film Studio, People's Army Cinema; Meritorious Artist, actor Ho Phong; actor Thanh Tuan; actor Than Thuong; Major, professional soldier Le Khac Quang; Senior Lieutenant Vu Thanh Tung (of the feature film Sao xanh noi bien song); Screenwriter Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, makeup artist Vuong Lan Anh and 3 female Youth Volunteer Soldiers of the Truong Son Army Driving Squad (the prototypes of the characters in the feature film Binh minh do - Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Anh, Ms. Bui Thi Van, Ms. Vu Thi Kim Dung); Actress, MC Huyen Sam.../.
