Accordingly, the contestants include: professional and non-professional musicians and artists, Vietnamese citizens, regardless of age or occupation, who can submit their works to the contest. Members of the Organizing Committee, Jury and Secretariat are not eligible to participate in the contest.
The Songwriting Contest on Ethnic Minorities focuses on topics praising the Party, Uncle Ho, mountainous homeland, revolutionary traditions of ethnic groups in the history of building and defending the country, famous people, national heroes; changes in mountainous rural areas in building new rural life, advanced examples in labor production, good people doing good deeds; criticizing bad habits, eliminating backward customs and social evils.
The content of the work reflects good traditional cultural values, praises solidarity, achievements, and innovations in the lives of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, and encourages creativity on the materials and folk melodies of ethnic minorities. Brings musical works to life, spreading widely in the lives of people in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas.
Type of composition: Work (song). Each work (song) submitted for the contest must have a complete musical part performed by musical notation and lyrics in Vietnamese, typed or handwritten clearly on A4 paper, clearly stating the author of the lyrics and music (authors are encouraged to send a recording of the song in wav, mp3 file format, or a CD with the song recorded). Lyrics must be performed in Vietnamese, clearly (if in an ethnic language, there must be a Vietnamese translation).
Prize structure
The award includes a certificate from the Organizing Committee, along with a bonus for the winning authors. The work will be used by the Organizing Committee for propaganda activities in any form when deemed appropriate. Specifically: 2 First Prizes (Northern and Southern regions), 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, 8 Encouragement Prizes, 5 Open Prizes.
Number of entries: Each author can enter no more than 3 works (songs). The 2024 Songwriting Contest on Ethnic Minorities for professional and non-professional authors is not for commercial purposes.
