This morning, January 14, the Youth Union of Quang Tri Newspaper in collaboration with Nhan Minh Charity Fund organized the 11th program "Bringing Tet to poor villages" in Vinh Khe commune, Vinh Linh district. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper Nguyen Ty attended.

At the program, the organizing committee presented 100 gifts, including: 72 gifts in kind (blankets, warm clothes, rice...), 28 gifts including 300 thousand VND in cash and necessities (rice, clothes, cakes, jams, melon seeds...) to poor and near-poor households in the commune; 138 warm clothes to disadvantaged students at Vinh Khe Primary Boarding School. The total value of the gifts is about 95 million VND.

Secretary of the Quang Tri Newspaper Youth Union Le Van Truong said: "Bringing Tet to poor villages" is one of the annual activities organized and maintained by the Quang Tri Newspaper Youth Union for the past 11 years, aiming to help people and students with especially difficult circumstances in remote, isolated and border areas of the country.

Resources to implement the program come from connecting and mobilizing benefactors, along with contributions from staff, reporters, editors and youth union members of Quang Tri Newspaper.

Through meaningful gifts mobilized and contributed by the Youth Union members, the branch has partly shared and brought people a warmer Tet. Thereby creating motivation for them to overcome difficulties and strive to build their lives.

Ho Thi Hien's family in Moi village is a poor household. Receiving a meaningful gift from the Quang Tri Newspaper Youth Union and Nhan Minh Charity Fund, Hien happily said: "I am very happy today. The timely attention and encouragement and these meaningful and practical gifts will help my family have a warmer Tet holiday."

It is known that Vinh Khe commune currently has 325 households, over 1,200 people; of which there are 17 poor households, 11 near-poor households, and 15 households in difficult circumstances.
