Make in Vietnam spirit develops digital technology enterprises quickly and sustainably

Recently, the 5th National Forum on Developing Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises was held in Quang Ninh. The forum is a major event of the industry to summarize and evaluate the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in the past 4 years.

This year's forum has the theme "Creating digital applications to develop the digital economy - Driving force for economic growth and labor productivity". This is a major event of the industry to summarize and evaluate the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in the past 4 years; Convey core ideas on digital technology development, the Make in Vietnam spirit, digital applications to help increase revenue, profit and labor productivity; Develop digital technology enterprises to contribute to rapid and sustainable development, inclusive development, escape the middle-income trap, and make Vietnam a developed country.

The forum program includes 1 main session and 4 thematic sessions. In the main session in the morning, speakers will share success stories of bringing digital technology into life, helping to change Vietnam and change the world. In the 4 thematic sessions in the afternoon, speakers will discuss the development of products based on new technologies such as: Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips and bringing them to domestic and international markets. Speakers will also discuss barriers, challenges and breakthrough solutions to provide more and more products, solutions and services on the basis of new digital technologies to the market.

Speaking at the forum, on behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha congratulated the units that won the awards this year; At the same time, he expressed high expectations for the rapid development of the force of entrepreneurs and digital technology enterprises in Vietnam, with digital solutions, technologies and applications that will continuously bring innovation and breakthroughs to all other fields in all aspects of the economy and society. At the same time, there will be products of national stature, affirming Vietnam's position in the world.

Appreciating the theme of this year's Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized: “The digital technology space is still very large. There is still a lot of potential. The 4.0 revolution has been creating core changes in the development model of countries. Vietnam needs to exploit digital resources well to build Vietnam's digital ecosystem, thereby building a stronger digital economy, helping Vietnam to truly develop. This Forum is an opportunity to review the activities of digital technology enterprises and spread awareness of digital transformation to society."

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications, said: “Looking back over the past 4 years, from 2019 to present, the Vietnamese Digital Technology Industry has made very encouraging steps of development and growth. The number of digital technology enterprises increased by 30%, digital technology industry revenue increased by 32%, the proportion of Make in Vietnam - Made in Vietnam of digital technology industry products increased from 21% to 29%. In particular, the field of software production for foreign countries grew by 43%, and we currently have over 1,400 enterprises of this type, with revenue gradually approaching the 10 billion USD mark.”

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications, from 2019 to now, Vietnam's Digital Technology Industry has had very encouraging developments and growth. The number of digital technology enterprises increased by 30%, digital technology industry revenue increased by 32%, the proportion of Make in Vietnam - Made in Vietnam of digital technology industry products increased from 21% to 29%. In particular, the field of software production for foreign countries grew by 43%, and we currently have over 1,400 enterprises of this type, with revenue gradually approaching the 10 billion USD mark.

According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, speaking at the Digital Application Forum for Industries, it is also product creation, it is also Make in Vietnam. Network operators and digital technology enterprises must consider this as a research and development activity. The market for 5G applications will reach 670 billion USD by 2025, which means helping network operators' revenue increase by 50% compared to 2020. Tens of thousands of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are entering industries and fields to create digital applications, helping with digital transformation, developing the digital economy for industries and fields. And this is also the process of industrialization and modernization of the country. Vietnamese digital technology enterprises now have a new mission of industrialization and modernization of the country through creating digital applications, digital transformation for industries and fields. Developing the digital economy of industries is also a way to increase labor productivity of these industries.

2024 also promises to be the year of commercialization and development of 5G nationwide to create infrastructure for industrial applications. At the same time, 2024 is also the year of narrow AI development, creating AI applications for each field.

The sideline activity of the Forum is an exhibition displaying, introducing and directly experiencing Make in Vietnam digital technology products, demonstrating the capacity of digital technology enterprises to develop digital government, digital economy and digital society.

At the forum, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced and awarded the Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product Awards 2023 in the categories: Digital Government, Digital Economy, Digital Society, Potential Digital Technology Products and Outstanding Digital Technology Products for Foreign Markets, to honor Vietnamese businesses and organizations with excellent digital technology products, solutions and services.
