Speaking at the opening of the forum, Ms. Cindy Shao - President of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, was pleased to welcome the delegation from Nghe An province to visit and work in the United States. The presence of the delegation today further affirms the effective cooperation in the fields of business, investment and trade between Vietnam and the United States. The forum aims to create a platform to promote the investment process, explore cooperation with Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular.
Speaking at the first session - Connecting between government and government, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that during the visit of US President Joe Biden, Vietnam and the United States decided to upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
This is a great opportunity for the two countries to realize their long-term development goals and at the same time bring to localities like Nghe An opportunities to open up investment and trade promotion connections with partners in the United States.
At the forum, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung introduced the potential and strengths of Nghe An province; at the same time, he emphasized that Nghe An province has prepared the most favorable conditions in terms of planning, essential infrastructure, investment premises, human resources and administrative procedure support for investors when coming to learn about and invest in Nghe An.
In particular, in recent years, Nghe An has focused on improving the business investment environment, enhancing provincial competitiveness; on that basis, increasing investment attraction, especially attracting foreign investment (FDI), including many projects in the field of electronics manufacturing, electronic equipment, spare parts to supply to large US corporations such as: Apple, Tesla...
Nghe An province focuses on attracting investment in the Southeast Economic Zone with 5 industrial parks with a scale of about 2,000 hectares, enjoying the highest incentives according to the regulations of the Vietnamese Government, fully meeting the requirements of investors when coming to learn about and invest in Nghe An.
Nghe An has received attention from the Central Government, which issued Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW on building and developing the province. Currently, the province is proposing specific and outstanding mechanisms and policies to help the province develop more strongly in the coming time.
Emphasizing the fields that Nghe An wishes to attract investment in such as: Semiconductor industry, manufacturing industry, new material production, new energy..., Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung said that with the determination and goodwill of Nghe An province towards investors, he believes that when investors come to look for opportunities and the investment environment in Nghe An will meet the conditions, thereby deciding to invest in Nghe An.
At the workshop, delegates from US government agencies introduced an overview of the agency's activities and emphasized the desire to promote exchanges and cooperation between parties, creating opportunities for governments and businesses to learn and cooperate more effectively in industry, trade and investment.
The delegates also congratulated the investment results that Nghe An has achieved and wished to have more information about investment opportunities in Nghe An province, ready to expand investment in Vietnam because the potential for cooperation between the parties is very large.
At the second session - Connecting businesses to businesses, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung said that in the 10 years of establishing the Comprehensive Partnership, the relationship between Vietnam and the United States has developed remarkably. Vietnam has become the 7th largest trade partner of the United States worldwide, with an import-export turnover of 140 billion USD in 2022.
Given these impressive results, the leaders of the two countries decided to upgrade the relationship to the highest level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, during US President Joe Biden's visit to Vietnam in September 2023.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted bilateral activities in the United States from September 17 to September 23, 2023, aiming to deepen the relationship between the two countries, in the spirit of the Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam - United States relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Sharing with businesses, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that the main purpose of this working trip to the United States is to connect business activities and investment. Nghe An sees this as an opportunity for localities like Nghe An to connect with US organizations and businesses in investment and business activities after the two countries decided to upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Emphasizing the view that enterprises are an important force and the main driving force of development, the head of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The province will create the most favorable conditions for enterprises to develop, when enterprises develop, they will contribute positively to the development of the locality in particular and the country in general.
At the forum, representatives of US businesses watched a video clip introducing the conditions in which Nghe An province is ready to attract investment. Businesses and investment funds also introduced their operations and asked many questions, as well as their desire to find investment opportunities in Nghe An.
Under the witness of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung and Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the Asian American Chamber of Commerce.
The Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) is a nonprofit organization of approximately 3,000 member businesses that promotes economic development for Asian-Pacific American-owned businesses in the DMV region. AACC also reaches out to the Asian-Pacific American business community in the U.S. region and serves as a bridge between Asian-American businesses and U.S. businesses.
AACC facilitates the growth and development of member businesses through events such as business networking programs, business exhibitions, business development seminars, workshops and other special events.
