Many provinces and cities have Tet bonuses of hundreds of millions, but the lowest is only 200,000 VND.
As of December 22, Da Nang city is leading in reporting Tet bonus levels, the highest being up to 700 million VND.
Accordingly, reports from 135 businesses in the area show that the highest bonus for the Lunar New Year 2025 is up to 700 million VND (300 million VND lower than last year), belonging to businesses in the private sector. In contrast, the lowest level is only 200,000 VND.
In Long An province, 968 enterprises reported their expected Lunar New Year bonuses for 2025. The highest bonus is expected to be VND519 million/person (foreign-invested enterprises). The average bonus is VND8.5 million/person, while the lowest is VND1 million/person.
The developing industrial province of Vinh Phuc quickly conducted a survey of nearly 150 enterprises, showing that the highest expected Lunar New Year bonus for 2025 is 400 million VND at a foreign-invested enterprise (FDI), with an average of about 6 million VND/person.

As for Hau Giang province, it is promoting industrial development. A quick report said that the highest expected bonus for Lunar New Year 2025 is 80 million VND/person.

The birth rate in Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to increase slightly to 1.4 children/woman but remains very low.
“The total fertility rate in 2024 is estimated to be 1.4 children per woman, a slight increase compared to 2023 at 1.32 children but still at a very low level. This figure continues to warn of the city's very low fertility rate,” said Mr. Pham Chanh Trung, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Population and Family Planning.
The Ho Chi Minh City population sector always calls for each couple to always have two children, but in reality, the fertility rate has fluctuated at 1.24-1.7 for decades, much lower than the replacement level (2-2.1 children per woman).

Suspected methanol poisoning, one person is in a coma, prognosis is poor
On the afternoon of December 22, Vung Tau Hospital (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) announced that it had admitted 4 people suspected of methanol poisoning. After intensive treatment, 3 patients have stabilized, while 1 patient named KS (born in 2000) is currently in a coma, with a serious prognosis according to doctors.
Previously, the patient called someone to come home to get IV fluids. After almost finishing the bottle of IV fluids, he showed signs of shock, convulsions, and stiffness.
Ward 11 People's Committee, Vung Tau City informed that at around 6:00 p.m. on December 19, 6 people came to eat at QT snakehead fish noodle shop (on 30-4 Street, Ward 11, Vung Tau City) and drank 4 bottles of wine (500ml/bottle).
After drinking, all 6 people went home drunk, gradually tired, and did not vomit. The next day, 4 people were tired but still went to work. At 5:00 p.m. on December 21, all 4 people showed signs of fatigue and difficulty breathing and were taken to the emergency room at Vung Tau Hospital. One of them had convulsions and cardiac arrest, but after resuscitation, his heart returned.
Initial diagnosis, 4 patients KS (born in 2000), KS (born in 1992), NAV (born in 1970) and NNV (born in 2000) had severe metabolic acidosis, monitored for methanol poisoning. At 7:00 p.m. the same day, 4 patients were prescribed continuous dialysis.
Through investigation, it was found that the patient drank alcohol from a 5-liter can purchased at a Chinese grocery store (near the noodle shop). Through rapid testing of the remaining alcohol sample (about 2.5 liters) at the shop, the sample tested positive for methanol.
