Vietnam won 6 medals and certificates of merit at the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad

On July 20, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the official results of the Vietnamese national team competing in the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in the UK. 6/6 students won medals and certificates of merit, including 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals and 1 certificate of merit. Two students won silver medals: Tran Duy, grade 12, High School for Gifted Students - Hanoi National University of Education; Tran Minh Hoang, grade 11, Ha Tinh High School for Gifted Students, Ha Tinh province. Three students won bronze medals: Pham Tran Minh Duc, grade 12, Tran Phu High School for Gifted Students, Hai Phong city; Nguyen Dang Dung, grade 11, High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Nguyen Van Hoang, grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for Gifted Students, Bac Ninh province. Ta Duc Anh, grade 12, High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education received a certificate of merit. The 65th International Mathematical Olympiad was held from July 11 to 22 in the United Kingdom, with a total of 609 contestants from 109 countries and territories. According to regulations, the organizing committee officially awarded prizes to 50% of the contestants. Certificates of merit were awarded to students who achieved the maximum score on 1 problem.
