The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a bulletin predicting heavy rain in the Central region and a weather forecast for the next 10 days, from the night of December 1 to December 11, for the whole country.

Accordingly, last night and today (December 1), in the area from Southern Nghe An to Quang Ngai, there was moderate rain, heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain. The rainfall from 7:00 p.m. on November 30 to 3:00 p.m. on December 1 was over 140mm in some places, such as: Trang Market (Nghe An) 142.0mm, Do Diem (Ha Tinh) 292.8mm, Le Thuy (Quang Binh) 163.4mm, Ta Long (Quang Tri) 157.2mm, Rao Trang 4 Hydropower Dam (Thua Thien Hue) 149.2mm...

It is forecasted that from the afternoon of December 1 to the evening of December 3, Quang Tri and the area from Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa will have moderate rain, heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 70-150mm, some places will have over 200mm; the area from Thua Thien Hue to Quang Ngai will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-300mm, some places will have over 350mm.

From the night of December 3, heavy rain in the above areas gradually decreased.

In addition, from the afternoon of December 1 and December 2, in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh, there will be moderate rain, locally heavy rain with common rainfall of 20-40mm, some places over 70mm; in the Eastern Central Highlands, there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, some places over 50mm.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, people need to be on guard against the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding of rice fields and crops in low-lying areas; be on guard against heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

The area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa has moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain.

The Central Highlands region has scattered showers and thunderstorms; the Eastern Central Highlands has rain, showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

Other areas have sunny days, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening; in the South, there are scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
