In 2024, Ha Tinh Cooperative Union will continue to protect the legitimate rights and interests of its members and continuously improve the efficiency of the collective economic sector.

On the afternoon of January 18, the Provincial Cooperative Union (CTU) held a conference to review the collective economy in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024. Leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities attended.

By December 31, 2023, the whole province has 3 Cooperative Unions, 1,025 cooperatives and 2,579 cooperative groups with 91,741 members.

The total charter capital of cooperatives is 2,357 billion VND; the average charter capital is 2.3 billion VND/cooperative; the average revenue is 1.55 billion VND/cooperative; the average profit is 281 million VND/cooperative; the average income of regular workers is 4 million VND/person/month.

Ha Tinh currently has 245 establishments participating in the OCOP program with 287 products meeting 3-star standards or higher, including 89 cooperatives and cooperative groups participating with 110 products.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung - Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union analyzed the results achieved by the Ha Tinh Economic Zone in 2023.

In 2023, the Provincial Cooperative Union will proactively advise and develop policies and directive documents to improve the effectiveness of cooperative economic activities. Organize work with the cooperative economic steering committees of districts, cities and towns to assess the current situation of cooperatives and cooperative groups, gradually orient and support their development; implement many activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Cooperative Union (October 29, 1993 - October 29, 2023) and the Ha Tinh Cooperative Union (October 19, 1993 - October 19, 2023).

Last year, the Provincial Cooperative Union also organized 14 training courses to improve capacity for 1,300 cooperative officials and members; organized trade promotion forums and provincial economic forums with the participation of more than 150 cooperatives; worked with the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association and a number of Thai enterprises on trade connections and investment cooperation with cooperatives and enterprises in Ha Tinh in the fields of seafood processing, fruit processing, and confectionery production.

By December 31, 2023, 274 projects of 167 cooperatives had accessed loans from the Cooperative Development Support Fund with an amount of VND 96.55 billion. In 2023, the Cooperative Development Support Fund disbursed 18 projects with an amount of VND 7.817 billion...

At the conference, delegates focused on analyzing the difficulties of the collective economic sector such as: the scale of many cooperatives is small, products are not competitive enough; the management staff of cooperatives is mostly untrained, so their management capacity is limited; the implementation of support for cooperatives is slow due to untimely coordination between related units...

In 2024, the Provincial Cooperative Union will continue to protect the legitimate rights and interests of member cooperatives. Focus on disseminating the mechanisms and policies of the Central and the province on the development of collective economy and cooperatives; training and coaching to improve capacity combined with study tours for cooperatives; supporting localities in building new cooperative models...

Departments and branches strengthen State management, take the lead in coordinating and reviewing to develop and implement in each field and locality under their responsibility. People's Committees of districts, towns and cities grasp the situation, coordinate in organizing propaganda, training, and capacity building, and solving difficulties for the economic zone.

Socio-political organizations continue to improve propaganda and mobilize members to participate in establishing new cooperatives and cooperative groups; continue to support their cooperatives and cooperative groups to operate effectively.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance awarded certificates of merit from the President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to 1 collective and 8 individuals who excellently completed their tasks in 2023.
