(Fatherland) - From October 24-26, in Tay Ninh province, the Department of Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organized a training conference and workshop on the Cultural Heritage sector in 2024.

The Cultural Heritage Training Conference aims to summarize, evaluate and share experiences on activities to protect and promote cultural heritage values ​​in 2024, thereby orienting the activities of the entire sector in the coming time, with the goal of gradually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of management, protection and promotion of national cultural heritage values, meeting the requirements of harmoniously handling the relationship between conservation and development.

Identifying culture as one of the four pillars for sustainable national development, the scientific workshop “Cultural Heritage – Resources for Sustainable Development” was organized, gathering full representatives of parties related to cultural heritage, including managers, professional staff from 63 provinces/cities; representatives of training institutions, research institutes, especially researchers and experienced experts... to focus on discussing and clarifying basic theoretical and practical issues in the management and protection of cultural heritage in the past and orientations for promoting sustainable values ​​in the coming time.

To gain comprehensive and in-depth understanding, linking theory with practice, the workshop is designed with content divided into 3 sub-committees, ensuring full coverage of basic areas of cultural heritage, specifically Sub-committee 1, Historical and cultural relics, scenic spots - resources for socio-economic development. Sub-committee 2, Museums, relics, antiquities, national treasures and documentary heritage. Sub-committee 3, State management of intangible cultural heritage associated with development and integration.

Delegates participated in the discussion, thereby gradually perfecting the theoretical foundations suitable to reality to propose optimal solutions towards building and perfecting the system of legal regulations, mechanisms, and policies to mobilize the overall resources of the whole society; promoting creativity, removing barriers in the activities of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage... in order to effectively manage, exploit and reasonably use the invaluable assets - the cultural heritage treasure of the Vietnamese ethnic groups, so that Vietnamese cultural heritage truly becomes an important resource to promote the sustainable development of the country according to the orientation set forth by the Party and the State.

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong acknowledged and commended the achievements that the Cultural Heritage sector has achieved in recent years and especially in 2024.

At the same time, to continue improving the quality and effectiveness of activities to protect and promote cultural heritage values ​​in the coming time. Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong suggested that the whole industry focus on a number of key tasks such as: focusing on research, consulting on perfecting institutions, mechanisms, and policies on cultural heritage, especially the dossier of the revised Law on Cultural Heritage and documents guiding its implementation, creating a favorable legal corridor for the work of protecting and promoting cultural heritage values ​​to be effectively implemented in practice. Continue to research and perfect the content of decentralization and delegation of power in state management from the central to local levels.

Remove policy barriers, harmoniously resolve the relationship between conservation and development of cultural resources, encourage active participation of society, and create motivation to promote the role of culture for economic and social development.

Continue to effectively implement the Program for preserving and promoting the sustainable values ​​of Vietnamese cultural heritage in the period of 2021-2025, the program for digitizing cultural heritage in the period of 2021-2030, promote digital transformation, apply information technology in documenting the document system and build a national database on cultural heritage.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in recent years, the province has paid great attention to the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage and has achieved important results, contributing to the management and preservation of cultural heritages in the province.
