Continue to support improving the quality of cooperatives

Closely connected, practical companionship

As a representative of collective economic organizations and cooperatives, the City Cooperative Union closely follows the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and programs and plans issued by all levels, sectors and the city to continue to perfect the organizational structure and enhance operational capacity. The Standing Committee of the Cooperative Union carefully prepares topics to disseminate the 2023 Law on Cooperatives, and closely coordinates with localities and units to widely disseminate related contents. Propaganda and awareness raising work on collective economy and cooperatives has been innovated in both content and method.

Membership management and development support are increasingly in-depth and effective. Activities such as the 2nd Cooperative Product Fair - Da Nang 2024 were successfully organized, creating positive effects and spreading strongly in the community. In 2024, 13 new cooperatives were established and 7 cooperatives were admitted, increasing the number of members of the City Cooperative Union to 130 cooperatives (80.7%); supporting 77 cooperatives to participate in promoting, introducing products, connecting supply and demand at fairs and trade promotion forums inside and outside the city.

Da Nang has 2 typical cooperatives honored by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance as typical cooperatives and awarded the Cooperative Star Award 2024 "CoopStar Awards 2024". The Standing Committee of the City Cooperative Alliance organized meetings and dialogues with member cooperatives to better understand their thoughts, aspirations, and plans for production and business development and promptly encourage, motivate, and support cooperatives. The City Cooperative Alliance proactively coordinated with districts to review data, provide advice and support on documents and model charters according to the Law on Cooperatives 2023 to promote the establishment and operation of cooperatives in accordance with regulations.

In addition, the role of representing, criticizing society and protecting the legitimate rights of members continues to be enhanced. Comments on draft policies and laws related to collective economic development are carried out seriously and in accordance with procedures. The work of building a streamlined and effective organizational apparatus is associated with Party and mass organization building; emulation and reward movements are implemented in a systematic, public and transparent manner, creating motivation for production and business development and building a sustainable cooperative model.

Thanks to the proactive and active implementation of synchronous programs and work plans in the right direction, in recent times, the City Cooperative Union has achieved many outstanding results in many fields. However, the activities of the union still face many difficulties and problems such as: the allocated funding is still limited, causing some contents in the plan to not be implemented as expected; the collection and synthesis of information from cooperatives is still hindered due to the lack of seriousness in the reporting and information regime; the rate of meeting participation and payment of membership fees according to regulations of many cooperatives is still low; the scale and production capacity of the collective economic sector in the area is still modest, not commensurate with the development potential of the city; the products of cooperatives are not diverse, the competitiveness is still limited, especially in the context of high input material prices and fierce competition from technology services...

Continue to promote the role of bridge and support for cooperatives

Mr. Tran Van Hien, Vice Chairman of the City Cooperative Union, said that in order to promote the achieved results and overcome limitations, in 2025, the City Cooperative Union issued a resolution on working directions and tasks with many important and breakthrough contents. In particular, it is prominent to promote extensive propaganda on collective economic development, especially the dissemination of the 2023 Law on Cooperatives and the Party's policies and resolutions.

According to the plan, 3-4 training, consulting and guidance conferences will be held to establish at least 15 new cooperatives and 35 cooperative groups. The City Cooperative Union aims to improve the quality of the website, promote the dissemination of effective models, and spread positive values ​​to the whole society. Surveys and assessments of the current state of cooperative operations will be conducted regularly to orient appropriate model conversion, focusing on merging small-scale cooperatives to establish a large-scale cooperative union model, operating more professionally and effectively.

The City Cooperative Union will continue to organize small and medium-sized markets; coordinate trade promotion, connect supply and demand; promote technical training, management skills, brand building, traceability... with the goal of having more than 60% of agricultural cooperatives achieving good or higher grades and 80% of cooperative management staff receiving professional training; organize and implement well the emulation and reward work, associated with the implementation of patriotic emulation movements launched by all levels and sectors in a practical and effective manner, creating a stronger driving force for the development of the collective economy and cooperatives in the coming years.

In particular, the 7th Congress of the City Cooperative Union for the 2025-2030 term, which will be held in the coming time, is an important milestone to summarize and evaluate the past journey and propose a new development strategy for the collective economic sector and cooperatives in Da Nang in the next period. In the spirit of innovation, responsibility and solidarity, the City Cooperative Union continues its journey to support the development of the collective economy, affirming the role of a bridge and a solid support for cooperatives in the context of integration and comprehensive development.
