The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has just planned to receive and distribute corn seeds supported by the Central Government to localities in Binh Thuan to overcome damage caused by natural disasters in 2023.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will receive and allocate 25.5 tons of corn seeds (12 tons of C.P111 F1 and 13.5 tons of CP 333 F1) to the People's Committees of Ham Thuan Nam, Ham Tan, and Tanh Linh districts to support farmers in restoring production and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in the winter-spring and summer-autumn crops of 2023. The time to receive seeds is from November 14 to 16, 2023. The location for receiving seeds is at the People's Committees of the districts receiving seed support in the province.

Specifically, the amount of corn seeds allocated in Ham Thuan Nam district is 18,200 kg; Ham Tan district is 5,120 kg and Tanh Linh district is 2,180 kg. The beneficiaries are households with corn and vegetable areas damaged by 30-70% due to natural disasters in the winter-spring and summer-autumn crop of 2023; priority is given to poor households, ethnic minority households, and policy households. In which, for areas damaged by over 70%, the maximum is 20 kg/ha. For areas damaged by 30-70%, the maximum is 10 kg/ha.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that Thua Thien Hue Plant and Livestock Seed Joint Stock Company is the seed supplier, coordinating with the People's Committees of supported districts and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to deliver and receive seeds. In order to receive and distribute seeds in the right quantity and quality according to standards, to the right subjects, to the right addresses and in a timely manner to serve production, the Department requires units and localities to coordinate closely to receive sufficient plant seeds. During the implementation process, it is necessary to closely monitor and check the quality and quantity of the provided seeds, not to use the provided seeds for other purposes, and to avoid loss or waste.

Previously, on October 5, 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued a decision on exporting plant seeds from the national reserve to support Binh Thuan province in overcoming damage caused by natural disasters.
