"Today is the first time I have attended two honoring ceremonies. I am very happy and proud to be honored after the efforts of myself and the whole team," midfielder Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang shared before the afternoon practice session of May 23 of the Vietnam women's team.
After the award ceremony for winning the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team returned to the training ground to prepare for the 2023 World Cup. Before leaving for Germany and Poland for training, the entire team will practice at the Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) to hone their techniques, while the coaching staff will take this opportunity to re-evaluate the players' abilities before finalizing the training list.

"Currently, my goal is to work hard with the whole team to practice and compete well at the 2023 World Cup. I don't have any further goals yet. Last week, I took 2 days off to visit my family and relatives," Thuy Trang shared.
Thuy Trang also said that the whole team learned a lot after 5 matches at the 32nd SEA Games: "In terms of physical strength, despite the harsh weather in Cambodia, the whole team tried their best. The physical strength of the Vietnamese women's team was worn out, but with the will and spirit of the team, we achieved success. All opponents at the 32nd SEA Games were strong, equal to Vietnam. The Philippines has good physique and a similar playing style to Europe. Facing opponents like the Philippines, we learned lessons to better prepare for the 2023 World Cup," the midfielder wearing the number 8 shirt shared.
According to the midfielder of the Ho Chi Minh City women's team, although they won the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team still has some points that need to be overcome: "Coach Mai Duc Chung told us to try to focus on the upcoming tournament, forget about winning and focus on the work ahead to do well. Although we won the SEA Games gold medal, the team still has weaknesses so we have to try harder, including poor finishing ability and missed many opportunities. In addition, the absence of Chuong Thi Kieu is a big loss for the women's team. The defenders sometimes lose focus, that is a shortcoming. For me, through each match, even though my teammates and I made mistakes, we all acknowledge and try to overcome them. I believe the whole team will have better results in the future."

On June 5, the Vietnamese women's team began their second training period in Germany with three friendly matches against Eintracht Frankfurt (June 10), Short Mainz (June 15) and the German women's team (June 24). During this time, the Vietnamese women's team will also make a short trip to Poland and have a friendly match with the Polish U.23 team on June 21.
According to Thuy Trang, the training trip in Germany will help the players prepare better for the 2023 World Cup. "Apart from the German women's team, the remaining opponents all have good physique and tactical awareness. This is a good training trip for us to prepare for the 2023 World Cup."
During the interview, an American reporter asked Thuy Trang the question: "How did you convince your family to let you pursue a sports career, because for women, pursuing a passion for football is very difficult?" Thuy Trang shared: "At first, my family did not support it because it is very difficult and hard for girls to pursue a football career. But after a while of convincing, my family supported it. Compared to the previous generation of players, the current generation has been given more conditions and attention from the VFF and sponsors. We have had the opportunity to compete with big teams in Asia as well as the world."
