Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024: 160 athletes compete for 7.3 billion VND

In its 8th season, Tien Phong Golf Championship gathered 160 golfers. Golfers competed in 5 groups including Group A, B, C, D and Young Talent Group, competing for titles in the groups and for the championship. After 18 holes, the golfer with the best negative stroke index will be crowned champion.

This year, the organizers announced the attractive hole-in-one (HIO) prizes of 3 luxury cars from VOLVO, with a total value of 7.3 billion VND. The HIO prizes are located at the par 3 holes 6, 14 and 17.

Tien Phong Golf Championship witnessed the participation of many young golfers who have achieved high results at the National tournament. Notable among them is the 2024 National Golf Champion - Nguyen Duc Son, the athlete and the reigning champion of the 2023 Tien Phong Golf Championship.

At the press conference to launch the tournament, golfer Nguyen Duc Son said: “The golf tournament system in Vietnam is not inferior to international ones. Personally, I always try my best in every tournament I participate in. I hope to achieve good results in the tournament, so that one day I can represent Vietnam to compete in international playgrounds.”

The 2023 National Golf Champion – Nguyen Nhat Long is also in the seed group participating in the tournament. Nguyen Anh Minh, Le Khanh Hung, Ho Anh Huy are currently participating in the Asia- Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship. If they return in time, all 3 will likely participate in the Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024.

This year, Tien Phong Golf Championship organized an additional sideline activity called “With Tien Phong, we help you get to school”, to join hands to support students affected by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi ). The organizing committee awarded 5 scholarships, each worth 10 million VND, to students in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee of Tien Phong Golf Championship, said: “As soon as the storm occurred, Tien Phong Newspaper visited the victims of the storm, then launched a support campaign. Over 10 days, the newspaper has attracted about 5-7 billion VND including cash, goods and necessities to support people in the flooded areas.

With the approval of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Education and Training , Tien Phong newspaper launched the program "With Tien Phong, we help you go to school" to support students in difficult circumstances, starting with an emotional launching ceremony at Cau Giay Secondary School. At Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024, golfers can show their hearts, join hands, and support the victims who were severely affected by the recent storm No. 3".
