Vaccines made in Vietnam
The vaccination target group is all children aged 1-10 who have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine or have unknown vaccination history. The vaccine used in the campaign is the measles-rubella vaccine (MRVAC) produced in Vietnam.
People can take their children to any vaccination center in the system in the area to get free vaccinations on weekdays, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Although this is a vaccine that has been deployed for many years, the system still pays great attention to vaccination safety, first of all the issue of vaccine storage and transportation.
Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet Suong, Director of Quality of VNVC Vaccination System, said that vaccines that are not transported and stored safely according to strict GSP standards will not ensure quality, will not create effective protection, not to mention affecting the safety and health of children when vaccinated, wasting efforts to implement the campaign.
"Therefore, to ensure the quality of vaccine sources, VNVC has dispatched specialized refrigerated trucks to transport GSP-standard vaccines to district and county health centers to receive measles vaccines distributed by the city.
The quality management and vaccine logistics team will strictly control from the time the vaccine is handed over, throughout the transportation journey and to the specialized cold storage of VNVC centers, only then will the first safe stage of the vaccine be ensured," said Ms. Suong.

Nearly 125,000 children need vaccination
Ho Chi Minh City estimates that nearly 125,000 children need to be vaccinated in this campaign with the goal of accelerating measles vaccination coverage for children aged 1-10 and high-risk groups to shorten the outbreak.
Doctor Bach Thi Chinh, Medical Director of VNVC Vaccination System, said that with the strength of being the largest vaccination service center system in the city with nearly 40 centers, nearly 2,000 doctors, nurses, medical staff, and a service capacity of up to tens of thousands of vaccinations per day, the system can organize hundreds of mobile vaccination teams to schools and residential areas with the highest safety vaccination process.
From September 1, 2024 to now, VNVC has deployed more than 30,000 doses of measles vaccines to protect the health of children and adults in the area.
"VNVC also commits to being ready to support facilities, medical supplies, and mobilize staff to join the city in preventing measles. The system's activities also demonstrate social responsibility, joining hands with the whole country to repel the epidemic and protect the health of millions of people," said Dr. Chinh.
In addition to achieving the target of vaccine coverage, VNVC pays special attention to ensuring safe vaccination and high efficiency in preventing measles.
VNVC standardizes the quality of vaccination expertise at all centers, ensuring the safety of quality vaccination, professional skills of screening doctors, highly skilled vaccination nurses, fully equipped functional rooms, post-vaccination reaction treatment rooms, and high-quality vaccine preservation systems.
Each VNVC vaccination center has a post-vaccination reaction treatment room with full emergency medicine and equipment such as anti-shock boxes, oxygen tanks, and a team that is regularly trained in emergency treatment skills.
VNVC invests in a general cold storage system and a vaccine storage warehouse that meets GSP standards right at each center, ensuring that all vaccines are stored under optimal temperature conditions.
In addition to the measles vaccine administered during the campaign, the system of nearly 200 vaccination centers nationwide and 39 centers in Ho Chi Minh City currently have all types of vaccines to prevent measles as well as other dangerous diseases in children and adults.
Among them, the combined measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, Priorix (Belgium) and MMR II (USA), helps improve the effectiveness of preventing many diseases in one injection and saves costs, reducing the number of vaccinations. These vaccines can be given to children from 9 months of age and adults.
According to records, since Ho Chi Minh City announced the measles epidemic and many localities recorded cases, the number of adults and children receiving vaccinations has increased. From September 1 to 14, Ho Chi Minh City alone saw a 300% increase in vaccinations compared to the same period last month.
Dr. Chinh added that in addition to supporting the measles vaccination campaign, the system also strives to provide adequate vaccines in the context of complicated epidemic developments, frequent rains and floods from now until the end of the year, causing many diseases to be at risk of outbreak such as flu, chickenpox, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, etc.
The vaccine used in vaccination for children is the measles-rubella vaccine (MRVAC) produced in Vietnam, the vaccine source is from the city budget and the Ministry of Health. The vaccination target is all children from 1-10 years old who have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine or have unknown vaccination history living in Ho Chi Minh City.
People can take their children to any VNVC vaccination center in the area to get vaccinated for free but still enjoy the full, safe and professional vaccination service of VNVC. Children's vaccination information will be stored on the National Immunization Information System and the VNVC Vaccination Mobile App.
