Disseminate promptly to each member
Nghe An is a large locality with a large number of members, with more than 400 journalists and reporters working in many branches. However, the selection of works for the National Press Awards has always been of interest to all levels of the association. Over the years, the urging of branches to submit works for the National Press Awards has been implemented early by the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association to 100% of its members, especially since the plan and guidance from the National Press Awards Council.
With the spirit of urgency, promptness and timeliness, the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association on one hand sent official dispatches to branches, on the other hand sent messages to journalist branches through Zalo groups and fanpages. In addition, the Provincial Journalists Association also posted detailed content on the Guidelines for selecting works for the National Press Awards on the Association's website as a basis for branches to urge members to implement, avoiding the situation where reporters and journalists have good works but do not know to enter the Awards.

To ensure time and progress, the Association also increased interaction, reminded the implementing units, and clearly stated the final deadline for submitting works to the Provincial Journalists Association so that this work could be carried out synchronously. Therefore, Nghe An is one of the localities that always submits on time according to the instructions and always has the full participation of the branches. Strive to complete early to have a list of authors and works sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association before March 15 as planned.
Journalist Ho Thi Ngan - Permanent Vice President of Nghe An Journalists Association said that in order to effectively implement this task, the Provincial Journalists Association should soon send an official dispatch to agencies and units to have members participating in the Council for selecting excellent press works to participate in the National Press Awards. Council members include representatives of the Provincial Journalists Association, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, the Director of the Radio and Television Station, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Provincial Party Newspaper to select authors and works.
The Council will remove works that do not comply with the rules, ensuring a balance in the number of works of different types of journalism. Limit the selection of multiple works of one type or of one journalism genre. In case an author submits multiple works, the best work will be selected. The Nghe An Journalists Association always tries to complete early so that when submitted to the Central Association, there will be no problems arising, meeting all the required conditions. Normally, each member is allowed to participate in one work, so that work has been carefully selected.
Journalist Ho Thi Ngan informed: “The most important thing is that each year, each season, we must increasingly improve the quality of award-winning works, with more opportunities to win awards, not just sending them for the sake of it. In Nghe An, all branches have clearly focused and focused investments in works participating in the National Press Awards. First, they choose new, current topics, directly related to issues that are of interest to public opinion and people. The issue of choosing topics is always the most important. Works about investigation and dedication of journalists, showing the difficulties, hardships, and dangers will usually be highly appreciated.”
“In particular, the issues raised in the work are of public interest and have a widespread influence. They have an impact on the government, on changes and adjustments to policies and legal regulations. Another important thing is the skills and techniques used to express the work and the form of presentation. That is why in recent years, the province's press agencies have regularly and consistently won awards at the National Press Awards,” the Permanent Vice President of the Nghe An Journalists Association added.
Support and facilitate members to create quality journalistic works.
It can be affirmed that over the years, the National Press Awards have always had a special attraction for every journalist. This is truly a great source of encouragement for journalists; recognizing and honoring the creative labor achievements of journalists. Therefore, not only in Nghe An, but also in many localities, many branches always attach importance to the work of creating sources of works to participate in the National Press Awards, provincial press awards and other specialized press awards. Works participating in provincial press awards will also be an important part of creating sources to participate in the National Press Awards.

Every year, the Hai Phong City Journalists Association regularly organizes training courses to improve the quality of works participating in the National Press Awards and other national press awards. The Association has coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association's Center for Journalism Training to invite journalists who have won many press awards for many years to share experiences, analyze and compare award-winning articles... with the hope that members will invest in improving the quality of their works to create sources for the National Press Awards. Through the training sessions, members learn more about how to choose topics, how to organize and implement, and how to choose the best quality works to participate in the National Press Awards, which are also analyzed.
In accordance with the Guidelines for selecting outstanding press works for the 18th National Press Awards - 2023 of the National Press Awards Council in 2023, the City Journalists Association is currently gathering and listing works sent in by branches. Unlike the press awards organized by Hai Phong City, the works selected for the National Press Awards this time raise broader issues, reflecting more comprehensive issues. Such as the Party building and rectification work; the fight against corruption, negativity, protecting the Party's ideological foundation; efforts to develop the economy - society...
Journalist Nguyen Anh Tu - Permanent Vice President of Hai Phong Journalists Association shared: “In fact, many works that have been awarded at the city's press awards are rarely selected to submit to the National Press Awards due to the narrow scope of the topics, local nature, so it is difficult to participate at the Central level. In addition, the City Journalists Association also coordinates with the branches to select works that are truly appreciated, have investment and are of really good quality, avoiding the situation of submitting too many works but the quality is not high. The Standing Committee of the Association and the press agencies regularly exchange with each other, to have quality works, here the role of the branches is still the most important".
Up to this point, most of the Association levels in the country are urgently completing the selection of excellent press works to participate in the National Press Awards as planned. The participating works are the most excellent works, reflecting accurate, honest, objective information, raising new issues, having discovery... ensuring the conditions to participate in the Awards... All will promise a new season, quality, success.
