Billionaire Elon Musk shifts investment to Trump's election campaign

Since July, billionaire Elon Musk has decided to pour $45 million/month into America Pac, Mr. Trump's super political action committee, according to The Wall Street Journal on July 16.

Two days ago, Mr. Musk voiced his support for the former President’s campaign shortly after Mr. Trump was shot. The American billionaire then reportedly decided to make a significant donation to America Pac, according to Bloomberg News.

Both The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with Musk’s recent moves, estimate Musk’s net worth at about $252 billion.

So far, the largest contribution to Trump's side in the 2024 election season is $50 million, coming from the great-grandson of American banking legend Thomas Mellon.

As of June 30, billionaire Musk had never transferred any funding to the above political super committee, according to The New York Times .

Which billionaire is donating the most to support Mr. Trump?

America Pac has previously received support from some of Mr Musk’s friends and allies in the tech sector, including Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of software company Palantir.

America Pac was formed this summer and is focused on campaigning for former President Trump in battleground states.

In March, billionaire Musk said he would not fund either side in this year's White House race. That all changed after Mr. Trump was shot.
