Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee works with Standing Committee of Thuan Nam District Party Committee

On March 12, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee had an online meeting with the Standing Committee of the Thuan Nam District Party Committee on the results of leadership and direction in implementing the tasks of socio-economic development (SEDP) and Party building in the district in 2023; directions and tasks for 2024. Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments and branches of the province.

In 2023, the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of Thuan Nam District Party Committee were united, highly determined, proactive, flexible, closely following policies and resolutions and setting out key programs and tasks to focus on leadership and direction, achieving and surpassing 13/15 targets in all fields. The socio-economic situation continued to be stable and developed. The economic structure shifted in the right direction; some potentials and advantages were effectively exploited and promoted. The construction of new rural areas achieved positive results. The socio-economic infrastructure system, especially the infrastructure for marine economic development, was focused on building and gradually perfecting.

Identifying 2024 as the year of "acceleration", it is very important to fulfill the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the District Party Congress, the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress, and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. Therefore, the Party Committee, government and people of Thuan Nam district continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and higher political determination to focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of the assigned tasks. Strive to collect over 77 billion VND in budget, the poverty rate will decrease by 1.2-1.5%; have 1 commune meet the new rural standards and 1 advanced new rural commune, develop 60 or more new party members.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, praised and highly appreciated the results achieved by Thuan Nam district in many fields in recent times. However, the potentials and advantages in developing the Southern key economic zone, marine economy, industry, tourism, energy, etc. have not been exploited and promoted effectively and have not shown themselves to be the driving force, breakthroughs, and strengths for rapid and sustainable development. The management of land, resources, and minerals has not been really effective, and there are still violations, encroachments, and illegal use. The Provincial Party Committee Secretary requested the Thuan Nam District Party Committee to continue to research, identify, analyze, and evaluate more deeply the potentials, advantages, and development opportunities of the locality, aiming to build and develop Thuan Nam district more quickly and sustainably. In particular, focusing on economic restructuring, considering marine economy as the core and breakthrough associated with preparing solutions and favorable conditions to attract and mobilize investment resources for development.

Regarding the Party building work, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the Thuan Nam District Party Committee to continue to focus on political and ideological education, raise awareness, create solidarity, unity, clarity, responsibility and higher determination in performing tasks. At the same time, he noted that the Thuan Nam District Party Committee should focus on reviewing planning, training, fostering, rotating and proactively having plans to arrange and assign cadres appropriately; conduct thorough reviews, grasp information and internal political protection procedures so that cadres in the planning of Party committees and key cadres at all levels must ensure quality and meet task requirements.

The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches to continue researching and advising on resolving recommendations, proposals and difficulties and problems of Thuan Nam district to ensure thoroughness, timeliness, efficiency, strictness, compliance with legal regulations and authority to create favorable conditions for Thuan Nam district to develop, especially issues of balancing and allocating investment capital to upgrade and expand the development of the socio-economic infrastructure system, creating a driving force for the development of the southern key economic region of the province.
