The 2024 Italian Film Festival will take place at the National Cinema Center, 87 Lang Ha, Hanoi, from September 23 to 28, introducing 6 outstanding films of Italian cinema.

The event is co-organized by the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi and the Asian Film Festival in Rome.

Sharing at a press conference on the afternoon of September 16 in Hanoi, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco della Seta said that with the desire to bring Vietnamese audiences contemporary perspectives on Italian cinema, continuing the tradition of promoting culture through the screen, the 2024 Italian Film Festival introduces 6 most recent famous films from Italian filmmakers, from drama to romantic comedy.

The films are carefully selected, have won many prestigious awards at film festivals in the region and around the world, and are imbued with typical Italian colors.

"Through frames ranging from reality to dreams, from humor to tragedy, the films screened at the 2024 Italian Film Festival have portrayed modern Italian society in the most multidimensional way, addressing political, economic and urgent social topics such as migration and working conditions," said Italian Ambassador Marco della Seta.

Specifically, the 6 films introduced at the Film Festival include: Io Capitano (I am the Captain) by director Matteo Garrone; Palazzina Laf (Cold Rolling Mill) by Michele Riondino; Zamora by Neri Marcorè; Quell'estate con Irène (Summer with Irène) by Carlo Sironi; Rapito (Abduction) by Marco Bellocchio; La Chimera (The Unrealized Dream) by Alice Rohrwacher.

Each screening will be followed by a Q&A and discussion about the film with the Artistic Director of the Asian Film Festival in Rome and the Italian Film Festival in Hanoi Antonio Termenini.

How? with the participation of Artistic Director Antonio Termenini, along with guests, opening up unexpected aspects of the factors that make a film a success in the international arena.
