On the afternoon of September 27, in Hanoi, the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam introduced the exhibition Beyond Limits. Italian Sports. Portrait of a Changing Country to a large audience in the capital. The exhibition was conceptualized by the M9 Museum of Venice with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The exhibition offers an innovative artistic journey through the history, present and future of Italian sports, recounting not only the great achievements of Italian athletes in various sports but also the transformation of the boot-shaped country over more than a century through sports.
With a selection of 24 photos, the exhibition Beyond Limits. Italian Sports. Portrait of a Changing Country also hopes to introduce to the Vietnamese public the most iconic locations and athletes of Italian sports.
Speaking at the exhibition, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Della Seta affirmed that throughout history, sport has played a strong role in bridging nations, overcoming divisions and encouraging dialogue. Diplomacy and sport share a common goal: building understanding and cooperation between cultures. Vietnam itself is a testament to the transformative power of sport.
With the rapid development of the sports industry, Vietnam has witnessed a significant increase in international sporting achievements in recent years. From impressive performances at the SEA Games to gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, Vietnamese athletes have proven their determination and excellence.
Sport has become an integral part of Vietnamese society, with more and more people participating in both recreational and competitive activities. Italy, like Vietnam, sees sport as central to its national identity.

"Italy, like Vietnam, considers sport to be central to its national identity. Our country's sporting tradition spans centuries and today, the Italian sports industry accounts for 1.3% of the national GDP and includes more than 750 companies, generating 12.2 billion Euros in revenue and 9.2 billion Euros in exports worldwide.
Whether it is football, cycling or motorsport, Italian athletes have always made their mark on the international stage. At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Italy once again shined brightly, with memorable performances in many events and a total of 40 medals, including 12 gold medals. It is these values of overcoming boundaries, striving for greatness and overcoming limitations that form the core message of the Exhibition," Ambassador Marco Della Seta emphasized.
According to Ambassador Marco Della Seta, the exhibition Beyond Limits. Sport Italy. Portrait of a Changing Country is not only a reflection of Italy’s sporting achievements, but also a reflection of how sport shapes our society, our economy and our national consciousness. The exhibition highlights the impact of sport on the development of Italy as a nation, while also celebrating individuals who have pushed the boundaries of what is possible.
The exhibition will last until October 8.
