The new collection comes at a time when luxury watch prices have largely stabilized, while younger investors and collectors are starting to look for new luxury pieces, fueled by strong demand.
Patek Philippe's newly launched watch collection includes three models.
The new Patek Philippe line features three different models – two in steel and one in platinum – that aim to “offer a new interpretation of the sporty-chic style”. Two steel versions, one mixed with rose gold for a more classic feel and the other entirely in steel, capture the sporty vibe of the line and stand out with colour.
The third model is crafted from platinum and has a slightly different dial design than the two above, with a rather large numerical date window and a small dial that tracks the moon phase as well as the day of the week.
Patek Philippe says it has incorporated new technologies into the watch, from an ultra-thin self-winding mini-rotor to an instantaneous jump mechanism that ensures different displays match within 18 milliseconds. The Swiss watchmaker has filed a patent for the new technology.
Patek Philippe's new collection also includes new cufflinks, designed to match the white gold framed watches that mirror the shape of the case.
Patek Philippe, founded in 1839, is often referred to as one of the "Holy Trinity" of watchmaking, along with Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin.
According to Patek Philippe's website, the new collection precedes the Cubitus line that debuted in 1999 with the release of the Twenty~4 design. That line was "intended for young, dynamic and modern women."
