Implement common awareness, continue high-level contact activities

At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Council of Theory, visited and worked in China.

On July 10, in Beijing, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and the delegation met comrade Thai Ky, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Chief of the Central Office of the Communist Party of China; and held talks with comrade Ly Thu Loi, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

During the talks and meetings, the two sides highly appreciated the new positive developments in the relationship between the two parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China in recent times, especially after the historic visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong right after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Ministries, sectors, organizations and localities of the two countries actively and effectively implement the high-level common perception and the Joint Statement on continuing to promote and deepen Vietnam-China relations.

High-level and all-level exchanges and contacts have been maintained regularly; cooperation in various fields has continued to be promoted in an increasingly substantive direction; the two sides have increased theoretical exchanges and shared experiences in Party building and national governance; economic and trade relations have maintained positive growth momentum; and local cooperation has made many encouraging strides.

Comrade Thai Ky highly appreciated and congratulated the important results in socio-economic development and great theoretical developments that the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, has achieved in recent years.

Comrade Thai Ky emphasized that the relationship between the two parties is an important foundation for the overall and strategic orientation of bilateral relations. The Party and State of China are willing to work with the Party and State of Vietnam to promote the traditional friendship between the two parties and the two countries to a new height, bringing cooperation in all fields to be increasingly effective and substantive.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang respectfully conveyed General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's regards and invitation to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to visit Vietnam this year; congratulated the important achievements that the Party, State and people of China have made in thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 20th National Congress, as well as over the past 10 years under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that this visit of the Communist Party of Vietnam delegation aims to implement the high-level common perception and the Vietnam-China Joint Statement in 2022, and is a continuation of high-level exchanges and contacts between the two parties and countries, most recently the official visit to China and attendance at the World Economic Forum by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the visit to China by Standing member of the Secretariat and Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai.

On the basis of an independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy, Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives top priority to developing relations with China; is ready to work with the Party and State of China to promote the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership into a new stage of development with higher political trust, more effective and substantive cooperation, a more solid social foundation, and better control and handling of disagreements on the basis of high-level common awareness and in accordance with international law.

During the talks and meetings, the two sides discussed in depth the directions for promoting the relations between the two parties and the two countries; agreed to make efforts to accelerate the implementation of the agreements reached between the two General Secretaries of the two parties; strengthen the leadership and direction of the Party relations for the overall relations between the two countries; increase regular exchanges and contacts at high and all levels; continue to deepen theoretical and practical exchanges between the two parties, especially on Party building and national governance; expand people-to-people exchanges and between localities of the two countries, consolidate the foundation of friendship; and jointly maintain a peaceful and stable environment.

Previously, the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam had a discussion with experts, scholars, and theorists of the Communist Party of China, discussing in depth the theoretical innovations and practical achievements of each party and each country.

During his time in Beijing, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and the delegation visited and worked with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.

Tomorrow (July 11), the Delegation will have a working session with the leaders of the Central Party School, and continue to visit and work in Guangdong province, China.
