
From May 2 to 8, the Provincial Women's Union organized activities under the Project "Reproductive health rights and education rights for vulnerable ethnic minority children lacking parental care in the project area" sponsored by SIDA, Forum Syd and Adoptionscentrum (Sweden) (abbreviated as ACS project - Sweden).
The project is implemented in Xuan Hoa commune, Bao Yen district.
The project's goal is that by 2026, 90% of children will confirm that they practice health care measures, including reproductive health; 75% of children will complete lower secondary education and continue to high school or vocational training; take measures to prevent abuse and violence, and be protected and cared for in a safe environment against the risk of sexual abuse...
With the support of the Swedish ACS Organization, nearly 400 ethnic minority adolescents, parents, caregivers and officials of the Women's Union of Xuan Hoa commune have participated in the following courses: training on skills, methods of club operation and management; training for parents of children in the project area on child protection policies; guidance for parents and caregivers on how to prevent child sexual abuse, some signs of recognition and procedures for detecting and reporting violations related to child sexual abuse in the locality (if any).

Organize policy monitoring with the participation of parents and children on: Implementation of policies to support medical examination and treatment for ethnic minorities in disadvantaged areas and poor women giving birth at public health facilities in Lao Cai province in 3 project communes in the spirit of Resolution 15/2021/NQ-HDND dated July 16, 2021; policy dialogue between district and commune leaders with representatives of women/families of target children on issues related to the implementation of women's and children's rights in the locality; communication to vulnerable ethnic minority children about reproductive health and ways to prevent sexual abuse.

The project aims to help leaders and women's union officials in the project area have the capacity to promote and influence stakeholders in implementing the rights of children and women; improve knowledge and skills to implement children's rights for parents in the project area; children in the project area have applied knowledge about reproductive health and their rights...
