My Duc is a suburban district in the southwest of Hanoi capital, with a total natural area of 226 km2, a population of over 215,000 people, 21 administrative units and 1 town (1 mountainous commune with Muong ethnic group). The district has many favorable natural landscapes, with mountains, rivers, fields, beaches, lakes with great potential for tourism development such as Quan Son lake, Tuy Lai ecological lake, Nuong Ngai Hong Son lake; has a historical relic site and Huong Son scenic complex (Huong Pagoda); has a Te Tieu puppetry village listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Implementing the direction of the Party Committee of the Hanoi People's Committee on implementing the plan to organize activities before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024; implementing the Program to Promote Investment, Trade and Tourism of Hanoi City in 2024, the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion presided over and coordinated with the People's Committee of My Duc District and relevant agencies and units to organize a Trade Fair and introduce OCOP products at Yen Vy Village Stadium, Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi City from February 29 to March 3, 2024, combined with promoting tourism at the Huong Pagoda Festival in 2024.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Duy Quang, Deputy Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Hanoi City, said: The event will be an opportunity for participating units to widely promote their brands, enhance product value, contribute to preserving traditional craft villages, rural community spaces and natural products, and preserve local cultural and tourism traditions. Along with that, it will promote trade, product consumption, and increase agricultural production value, contributing to the socio-economic development of Hanoi and other provinces and cities.
“ The trade fair and OCOP product introduction will be a practical activity to serve the shopping, entertainment and recreation needs of tourists when coming to Huong Pagoda, contributing to promoting the cultural value of Huong Pagoda Festival and the value of the National Monument complex, especially associated with the potential and strengths of tourism development of My Duc district ,” Mr. Bui Duy Quang emphasized.
According to the representative of My Duc district, the program "Trade Fair and OCOP Product Introduction associated with Huong Pagoda Festival 2024" is organized as a very timely encouragement to promote trade, production and tourism promotion programs in My Duc district in particular and Hanoi city in general with neighboring provinces in the country, in order to contribute to expanding the market, creating momentum for development in all economic, political and social fields; creating conditions for businesses, economic organizations and craft villages to promptly grasp opportunities to exchange, promote brands, introduce products, joint ventures, associations, investments, exploit all potentials, strengths, and development trends of the district, city and country.
“ The fair is also an opportunity for people in the district and neighboring areas to exchange, visit, and shop for rich and diverse products and goods that ensure quality, food safety, and clear origin and source, and to experience the district's tourism products ,” said a representative of My Duc district.

The fair gathered the participation of about 120 enterprises, cooperatives, OCOP entities from 22 provinces/cities and localities nationwide to display and introduce products such as Ninh Binh, Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Hung Yen, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Dong Nai, Bac Giang, Lam Dong, Nghe An, Dac Nong, Vinh Phuc, Thai Binh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ha Giang, Son La and Hanoi city.
According to the organizers, with a scale of about 110 booths, over 1,000 product lines are displayed and introduced here, including typical agricultural products, OCOP products, regional specialties of localities; processed products, green agricultural products, high-tech agricultural products, traditional craft village products of Hanoi and other provinces and cities.
In addition to the activities of displaying, introducing and selling products, during the Fair days, there are also activities of promoting, connecting, processing and trialing products on the spot; demonstration activities, ethnic cultural exchanges, performing arts, local music and dance...
The organization of the Fair also aims to promote and introduce the culture of My Duc land and people, promote the development of craft village tourism and spiritual tourism in the district, as well as create a highlight to stimulate safe shopping during the 2024 Huong Pagoda Festival, contributing to the effective implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
In My Duc district, there are 44 OCOP products recognized by the city and district with 3 stars or more, including 1 5-star product (of My Duc Mulberry and Silk Company Limited), 2 potential 5-star products, 21 4-star products; 20 3-star products); there are 6 craft villages recognized by the city... In addition, there are typical products such as: Huong pagoda's rau sang, Huong Tich apricot, Huong Tich apricot wine, yam cake... My Duc is located on the border between the plains and the mountains, with a limestone mountain range running along the west. It is a purely agricultural district with a large area of agricultural land. There are no industrial clusters, so it is less affected by environmental pollution on production and people's lives. It is a district with potential for natural landscapes and a rich system of relics; it is planned as a green belt of the city. In the district, there are many famous and environmentally friendly tourist areas with green, clean and beautiful environment such as: Quan Son Lake Eco-tourism Complex, Tuy Lai Duong An Duong Tourist Area, An Phu Lotus Field, Phung Xa weaving village (Phung Xa Commune) with textile products, silk, lotus silk and Huong Son National Special Relic Site (Huong Pagoda) annually welcomes over 1 million visitors to visit and attend festivals, creating a beautiful, lyrical and poetic picture of heroic My Duc, the green belt of the capital Hanoi. |
