Leaders of Thua Thien Hue province and philanthropists present scholarships to poor students overcoming difficulties in 2023
This is an annual event, organized by Thua Thien Hue since 2013. The program aims to honor and encourage the spirit of striving to achieve high academic achievements of students with especially difficult circumstances, spreading the emulation movement of students.
At the same time, through the program, it creates opportunities for students in especially difficult circumstances to meet, exchange, and directly express their feelings and aspirations; creates conditions for the implementation of children's rights, especially the right to education and the right to participation of children; and promotes the socialization of child protection, care and education.
At the program, representatives of Thua Thien Hue province, Ho Chi Minh City and district leaders awarded 100 scholarships to 100 disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies from districts, towns and Hue city.
Each student received a scholarship and gifts worth 4,000,000 VND/student, including: 3,000,000 VND in cash, backpacks, school supplies and many other gifts. In addition, students were also invited to have lunch together. The total cost of this activity was nearly 500 million VND.
Leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thua Thien Hue province and benefactors presented scholarships and gifts to poor students who overcame difficulties.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van - Vice Chairwoman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Council emphasized that the scholarships and gifts not only help the children materially but also serve as a source of encouragement, creating confidence in life, thereby helping them strive to rise up and firmly step on the path of study in the following years.
Ms. Van requested agencies, units and localities to strengthen leadership and implementation of the work of protecting, caring for and educating children. At the same time, she also called on organizations, businesses and individuals with their affection, heart and social responsibility to join hands to protect and care for children, especially poor students and students in especially difficult circumstances so that they can have a childhood with more joy, happiness and a brighter future.
