On the evening of September 21, the Vietnam Olympic team lost 0-4 to Iran in the second match of Group B of the 19th ASIAD.

This was a match in which the red team played completely inferiorly to their opponent from West Asia.
Speaking about this, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan admitted: “I would like to congratulate Iran, it was a well-deserved victory. They had a completely superior match compared to us.
Our players are still too young so it is understandable that they make many mistakes, that is a valuable lesson for them. We need to forget this defeat and focus on the final match."
In this match, Olympic Vietnam almost had no control over the ball in the midfield area.
Van Khang and his teammates could only rely on long passes and counter-attacks.
However, the attacks of Olympic Vietnam were quite monotonous and were mostly predictable by the opponent.
Another notable point is that all 4 goals conceded by the "Golden Star Warriors" came in the early and late stages of each half.
Commenting on this, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: “I told the players in the previous match that they must play with great concentration at the beginning and end of each half. I told them before coming here to attend the 19th ASIAD.
However, they did not do well under the pressure of a strong opponent. We will have another chance. The players need time to control the match from the first minutes."
After losing to Iran, Olympic Vietnam fell to 3rd place in Group B with 3 points and a goal difference of -2.
In the final match, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will face Saudi Arabia on September 24.
